@alexander_mark: "If art is only in the eye of the beholder then how can you possibly understand the beholder's review?". That's actually easy to answer. If someone shares the beholder's views/perceptions/tastes/opinions on the subject, they are likely to understand that beholder's review. If they do not share those, then they might not understand the review. Which is perfectly normal, and totally okay/fine. That's just part of what makes us different. Now it's actually really fitting that you brought this up, since, I'll remind you, I explicitly stated that I do not understand the reviewers. This supports my answer to your question here. It's natural, really.

@alexander_mark: Yeah, no. Art is THE most subjective thing in the world. There is no such thing as objectively great art. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. It does not matter how many people love a certain painting, or how much recognition it gets, or how much someone who loves it knows about paintings, or what they do for a living. It's still subjective. Videogames are no different. Nothing that deals with taste or opinions is objectively good or bad. You can't compare those to scientifically objective facts like that the Earth is round. Also, what is your point in bringing this up anyway? Are you trying to argue that it's not possible for someone to mention what things they don't like in/about a game, without that automatically implying that their opinion about the game is correct, and others who don't agree are wrong? Because that's a pretty preposterous claim if I ever heard one...I was taking you 100% seriously up until now, but you're starting to make that difficult...

@alexander_mark: I think you need a course in reading comprehension mate. I made a point out of mentioning time and time again in my post that this was my "opinion", and nowhere did I imply that it was objective fact. I did not say the game is objectively bad, I said I'm disappointed in it. Don't put words in my mouth. And nowhere did I say the critics are wrong, I said I can't understand them. This is not implying that my opinions are right, and that the critics are wrong. I did not make a list of reasons why the critics are wrong, I made a list of the things I'm unhappy about in the game. Stop twisting my intentions. If I can't list the things I'm unhappy about in the game and say that I don't understand how none of these things bothers any of the critics, and how the game got a perfect score, without it automatically implying that my opionions are right, and others are wrong, then I'd love for you to tell me how one would go about listing the things he or she doesn't like about a game, and explain their opinions on a game, without implying that their opinion is correct, and others are wrong. By your logic, it's not possible, which of course would be nonsense.

@gameroutlawzz: Well, I agree completely with some of the things you say. Others I'll just chalk it up to differences in what we like. :-) Funny you should mention the Assassin's Creed games as being boring, and TP being the worst LoZ ever for example; I really liked AC 2 (1 was indeed boring), Brotherhood, and Revelations (haven't played any of the others yet), and TP to me is a super-amazing game (I don't have a favourite Zelda game, as I keep switching between which one I like the most out of OoT, WW, and TP depending on which one I played most recently, and/or am most bored of from overplaying), apart from being a bit too easy (though the Darknuts in TP are my favourite enemies from any Zelda game ever, they're just pure awesome, and a good challenge until you figure out how to deal with them (3 or 4 of them at the same will still be hard even after that)). :-P Also, I never said anything at all negative about the horses or horse riding in the game, so I think you must have misread me pretty badly somewhere if you think I did. :-P I entirely agree with your paragraph about horses in this game. Anyway, the game is growing on me at least, and I am enjoying it, though not as much as the others. How much I'll like it overall compared with the others, well...We'll see once I'm about done with it I guess. Right now I'm nowhere close to that. :-P

@alexander_mark: Except I didn't say they are wrong about anything at all, or that their opinion is wrong, and mine is right. I didn't even claim such a thing. I said I don't understand it. As in, I can't understand why they think it's the best Zelda ever, or, especially, why it's apparently perfect to them. There's a difference. I know it's popular among gamers to mock people for their opinion if it's different from their own, and it's so typical that it tends to lead to lame "Lol, your opinion and comment is stupid, you're just a hater!" type of comments no matter what the person in question says in their initial post, even if some of it makes sense...But it's rather petty...

Champion's Tunic looks all right, Warm Doublet is okay, and the Snowquill outfit is passable/barely acceptable...Everything else just looks god awful...I really need to get myself some of those amiibos (which I have never bought before up until now...) so I can get the green tunic (and Epona) back, and not have to wear this crap...I don't want to spend even more money after having bought both the Switch and the European limited edition of this game, but the outfits are all so bad, and Link should be in his green tunic anyway...Yet another of about a million things I'm not happy about in this game...

I've been a huge Zelda fan since I was just a kid, in fact it's my favourite game series of all time, and I have played OoT, MM, WW, and TP over and over again more times than I can count over the years (and I own all the consoles), and loved them all to bits, and even Skyward Sword, which was disappointing, was still all right, while this, to me, so far, has been the most disappointing Zelda ever, I do not understand the critics, and I feel pretty gutted about this being the way forward for my favourite game series in the future...They changed most of the things I really liked about the other games, and added a bunch of new stuff that I don't like...

A ton of weapons that break after a few swings, a Master Sword that "breaks" and needs a long cooldown (these two things are the single worst offenses in my opinion, especially in regards to the Master Sword), barely any real dungeons (not to mention the lack of variety in types of those. The second biggest offense in my opinion), no heart pieces to find and collect, just containers via orbs from shrines, forraging for food and materials and having to cook stuff to eat to refill hearts, a poor camera that doesn't properly follow you anymore (which means I have to control it manually all the time...) unless you're on horseback, an overcomplicated control-scheme (and, more minorly, forcing the button for swinging your weapon on the Y button, even though every 3D Zelda game so far has had this be on the B button...It's ingrained in me at this point, I can't shake it...), few and unvaried enemies (the total amount of different enemies in this game is HALF of what was in Ocarina of Time, and that's INCLUDING bosses!), fairly serious framerate drops at times, grass and flowers and other stuff only renders like 10 meters in front of you at a time (not an exaggeration btw), you get everything you need to complete the game (bombs, bow and arrow, and all the runes) almost right off the bat instead of having the joy of collecting and unlocking new stuff as you play, there are few combat moves compared to the other games (especially compared to Twilight Princess), the dreaded return of that god-awful and annoying abomination that is the stamina bar, and the most disappointing music (when it's there that is, which is another problem: it's mostly almost absent for most areas of the game...) in any 3D Zelda game so far by MILES (this is a first for me, as every Zelda game so far has always had really great music, up until this one...)...Sigh...

Remains to be seen if I will at least like the story, I have a lot left to do in the game...It does at least look pretty, and while I'm not a fan of adding advanced technology to the Zelda universe either, I've grown to accept that aspect...The world is of course also large, which is nice, but it does feel a bit empty at times...Maybe the game will grow on me even further, I don't know, but for now I'm pretty depressed...Depressed mind you, not angry, and I'm not a troll, or a Nintendo hater, as I said earlier, I love Zelda, and I am playing the game too, not just complaining about it without having tried it...I'm just genuinely really unhappy about/disappointed in this game, and the fact that all the critics thinks it's the next coming of Jesus for some inexplicable reason (no lie, I quite literally can't understand why) means that this will probably be what all future Zelda games will be like, which has me very depressed...For me it's the signal of the end of the best times for one of the best game franchises ever made...

I'm a huge Ghibli fan, and despite its few faults I absolutely loved the first game, but... I don't really like how it sounds like the game will have less of a Japanese feel to it in order to appeal better to western audiences...It makes me worried...I'm Norwegian, but to me the various Japanese elements mostly only found in Japanese games are a big part of the reason why I enjoy them...I don't want another Western RPG, and I'm also getting fed up with this trend of having open worlds in so many new games, it usually means huge empty areas with little to do, and longer distances to walk, and it taking longer to complete each game without there being more fun gameplay and things to do in them as well...

@romeothebeast: Good one. ;-) But I'm afraid I can't agree with that either, that's taking it too far in the other direction. The game's not good enough to be called that imo. It's a great game, but is has plenty of flaws, and there are several others that are much better made, overall. Like Xenoblade on the Wii. :-P
