The first one is my favorite FPS of all-time. Every single weapon was so balanced and co-op story mode was dope. Every FPS wanted to be like Halo. It's the only FPS I know of, that really made the Xbox. 10/10 Halo 2 was dope, too. It had some of the best online multiplayer I've ever played. I loved the sword, new weapons, and WAY MORE NEW enemies. The story was a bit weak, but it's surprises made up for it for me. 9/10 Halo 3.....sigh. I really thought the game was mediocore at best. The story was just pathetic. I was expecting a full-out war like they show in the commercials and I was deceived. They hardly added anything new that blew my mind like in Halo 2, but I did love the Forge mode. I liked some of the gernades Bungie added but I really felt they didn't change enough for it to be a sequel. I hated the MP maps, the expereince system, and actually liked the customization options but I never could get into it. It felt like Halo 2.5. Overall, I'd give it a 5/10. CleanPlayer

So, as you see it, 3.3 million gamers purchased Halo 3 within 24 hours for nothing?

[QUOTE="TheDefinitive"][QUOTE="pyromaniac223"] He likes it more. Do you really want to go into this pointless argument? He never said it was of higher quality, although he probably will now. You really can't argue someone's opinion like that. It's not mandatory that everyone like Halo more than everything.pyromaniac223

Half-Life is tedious compared to Halo, so I am now aware of in what way he's thinking?

In your opinion it is more tedious than Halo. Obviously, in his opinion, it's not.

So, for what reason did more people buy Halo 2? Not a great deal awaited Half-Life 2.

I recommend you read it. Also go lurk moar. If you do you will see all the great stuff Bungie cut from the game. Also you will discover in most places with people that have played Halo since the first game and followed Bungie since Marathon, that you are in a minority:?

MaskedHoodlum

So people purchased Halo 2 for its single-player. There is a reason Halo 2's and Halo 3's pre-orders' in one single country outsold the sales of nearly all the other first-person shooters the first month throughout the world.

lulz your mental retardation never ceases to amuse me  yes most people actually did buy Halo 2 for single player for two reasons: Halo's story was f***ing amzing and Bungie showed us stuff that made Halo 2 look even better. What happened? It failed miserably. I will tell you other people did buy it for its multiplayer but that doesn't change the fact that it sucked massive hairy ***** Also from the way your speaking it sounds like you're trying to say I'm a fanboy that thinks Halo sucks  that makes you even more f***ing retarded if you had even bothered to read my edit you would've known I'm mad at Bungie not Halo. So let me guess your one of those "hardcore" fanboys that hoped aboard the bandwagon willing to take any **** that Bungie feeds you right? I think you're one of thoes arrogant fanboys that was mentioned earlier. Halo is not the FPS "god" and the sooner you realize it the better. Trust me kid once you've been around the block a few more times come back and then we'll talk.

Halo is the greatest first-person shooter series ever made. In passing, IGN said that Halo 2's multiplayer was immensely good.

It's not that I hate halo.

I just Like Half-Life more.

What I really want bungie to do is a remake of marathon.

Make it so it has the same gameplay elements, but make it have all of the Audio/Visual bells and whistles of today's games.

What makes Half-Life of higher quality, then?

the characters have more depth.

Better pacing.

The Combine are awesome.

Better scripting.

etc etc

Freeman is dreary - he never talks. Chief, on the other hand, is so cool.

I think that he's afraid of confessing it himself. Half-Life is nice, but Master Chief would pull Freeman to pieces.

Halo is fine and dandy, i have no issues with halo as a game, what im tired of is people thinking this is the end all be all FPS game, XBL kiddies never shutup about how CS sucks and Halo is "Teh uber awesomes".

Its a good game, its just, people think that once they play halo they have some kind of opinion on the state of FPS games. as if they have played it all, and im not bashing anybody on this thread or anything like that but ive seen alot of it.

Halo did what Goldeneye did for the Console FPS genre, Revitalized it, and thats great. i'm happy to see a genre that was doomed to fail, succeed on consoles.

That being said. I do not hate Halo, but i do hate what Halo did to the console FPS market. /rant

Pinkyimp

It granted the first-person shooters on consoles an utterly new face.  :|
