--this game obviously looks like a big deal --and it is --and it has my attention(no doubt i am eyeing this one)
--but --i have a pretty good 'feel' for games --for ex --i knew DOOM would blow(for me personally) --i could just feel it(even though it scored in the high 8/10s and some reviewers i trust gave it a F'n 10/10) --and then 3 months after the game drops --there is a price drop to 20$(unheard of) --i bought & played it --and --bing bong right on the ring tone --it was exactly as boring(for me) as i had envisioned --this happens with me all the time(these days) --it is like i have gamed so long --that i can tell(based on critics and general trailers and gameplay videos) --i can tell exactly how a game 'suits me'(before i play it) --i also have exquisite tastes --i prefer the 'best experiences' i can get in gaming(no matter what the genre) --i consider myself a connoisseur of gaming experiences
--i predict that this game is gonna be one of the weirdest games ever made --haha --i mean(that is a bold statement~i literally mean "weirdest game ever made") --there is no other way to 'put it' --some gamers are gonna think it is the greatest thing ever --and other will completely hate it(and LOTS of grey area) --i predict that the truest of true JRPG and FF fans are going to LOATH it --because it isnt even a JRPG(combat wise) --it is like monster hunter meets GTA meets idk something like watch dogs(with all the unique little side stuff to do) --but --what is gonna make this game SOOO offbeat(from the norm) --is they have been building it for like more than a decade --that is an enormously LONG development time for a video game --the only other games that come to mind are duke nukem --and star craft 2 --i predict this game will follow more along the lines of star craft 2 --but --star craft 2 was EXACTLY what starcraft fans wanted --whereas --this game --i have never seen a game that is ANYTHING like this --this is a VERY complex --strange --'weird ass game'
--as far as a score --i have no idea --i cant see the game in my head --it is like --5 different genres --all swirling around --looking for somewhere to rest --idk it is unexplainable 'the vision' that this game 'portrays into' my mind --wait i got it --you know how 'weird' that Japanese culture can be a lot of times --so this game sorta seems like 5 japanese men have been having a strange waking nightmare for at least 5 years straight --and --it just will not finish itself
--they needed to move away from the industrial side of the story with RE --the game has always been about mutation caused by industry & big corporations --but --at the end of the day --the best games like this --have a VERY simple story(that works it's way around a very small area~like a small town or something) --with a very unaware group of people --just dealing with it like normal people would(vs being a super soldier~fighting the heart of the corporation)
--i mean --it is hard to 'keep it simple' --when your gaming franchise is almost 2 decades old --and was the grandfather of it's genre --and pretty much laid the groundwork for what the genre is(almost like 'survival horror' could almost just be called 'Resident Evil') --also they have done it right before --and then when modern peripherals created a '3rd person standard' of full peripheral vision control --those newer controls --sorta left RE with no way to 'keep to it's roots' --as RE5 proved(with it's standard action controls) --then re6 was a COMPLETE disaster(with no real identity to a genre at all) --even in the RE7 demo --they have let us know --that the controls will just be regular old fluid action peripherals --because most gamers just do not understand --not all games used to have full peripheral controls(or still have to)
--i think "the evil within" mastered the controls for a modern horror survival --but --as usual --gamers just cant seem to grasp the concept --of a horror survival game being more scary --if you 'can't move around and see perfectly' --i am not saying lets go back to 'old school' tank controls --i said --the evil within has a masterpiece of a control scheme for the genre
@Iconoclysm: --yea nintendo had the next big thing(in their sunday picnic basket) --it was the ps1 --and they orphaned it on sony's doorstep like an unwanted bastard --sony who turned around and gave developers FULL reign over the console --which was the 'true future' of gaming(ps TOTALLY DOMINATING 5th and 6th gen) --and giving developers reign is still the best way to win
--please --nintendo hasnt invented ANYTHING on home console since snes(the controller~which is still 'the core' of a playstation controller) --and sales numbers arent even funny
--gamecube sold 22million units(while ps2 sold 155million units) --gamecube was discontinued in less than 7 years --ps2 ran for 13(was only discontinued in 2013)
--the first season of american horror story was simply excellent imo --the 2nd and 3rd season were pretty good --but when they started the 4th season --the show just became almost a bore(and i lost interest) --but --i really like the concept of a series that COMPLETELY switches from season to season --more shows need to follow that lead
--xbox should do one --everyone would love the halo lazer tag zone --and the gears of war lazer tag zone --and --wait --are those the only 2 IPs xbox has ever had any success with?
--hey PlayStation could do one --they could have... --um an uncharted water ride(oh goodness) --and um --wait --um --a god of war ride(thing)
--yah baby --i mean you would think --that with nintendo having enough IP presence to build an entire theme park section around --that they could sell a home console(or 2)
--shit --they could still do that with wiiU --they have COMPLETELY lost touch with home console gamers --that was obvious way back with gamecube --hell even n64 only sold 33million units(compared to PS1's 100+million units sold) --nintendo are simply 'outta touch' with today's hardcore console gamer --wii was basically a fluke(as far any kinda 'clue' as to what they should do~or what gamers want) --we still arent sure who was buying that damn thing(but they sure as hell didnt show up for wiiU)
--we thought 3ds was gonna fail --and somehow it blew up and has sold almost 60 million units --youd think they could do 'something' --to try and get wiiU selling --especially over the last 2-3 years --if all they are gonna do is drop a game here and there --and hope console sales are gonna pick up or take off --they just as well save their money --instead of investing in building another mario machine(and nintendo franchises and genre styles no one really wants)
--the gaming industry is definitely going through a HUGE transition --gamers that are around 20ish and up --are growing tired of games like COD and asscreed and batman asylum --FPSs & 3PSs are simply losing their appeal --because we have been playing them for DECADES --i remember when every game had to be 3 dimensional --because for the first 5-10 years of 3 dimensions --we were all banging our fists on the table and hollering hallelujah to the moon --but --things are getting pretty stale(here decades later) --so --it is pretty obvious to me --that a 'new style' of gaming has to come out --and --it will be one of the big 3 that figures out how to properly move into this VR/AR future we are staring at --it is gonna have to be 'real' --a 'real' change that works --and we all know --Nintendo has simply lost touch --i have no advice for them(after how thye handled wiiU~ever heard of hiring an advertisement group?) --keep selling 3ds --and hope for the best --but yall arent gonna make 'the next big thing' --the only time yall ever really did --was way back when you brought the d-pad to the NES
