@SirNormanislost Did I ever claim otherwise? I love when people are so insecure that they have to try to point out that anything they disagree with is just an "opinion".
Anyways, I don't mind being in the minority of gamers' opinions when the "majority" opinion is along the lines of CoD and GTA being the greatest things to ever happen to this planet....
@cigarcat a development team that knows the primary audience for their game is 13 year olds who will make purchase decisions based off the title and box art
@lokizarro except some games are intelligent, well-designed escapes from reality, and some are juvenile garbage
GTA falls in the latter category... the story is always lousy and the same, the gameplay mechanics are always sub-par, and for all the talk of open world, there's basically no variation on what you can do in a GTA game:
1) Run around causing random chaos which is fun for 5 minutes and then gets old
2) Drive around stealing vehicles until you realize that it's only fun for 5 minutes because other games do vehicle mechanics better
3) Do one of the story missions until you realize those are boring too
This particular "escape" is the bottom of the barrel.
Yay! Now all the 13 year olds in the basement of their parent's house will have another juvenile fantasy game where they can pretend they are badass outlaw gang bangers instead of dorky middle schoolers!
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many sheep in here making judgments about a game based off a pre-rendered CG trailer that doesn't actually show anything about the game.
I agree that this is a cool CG trailer. But let's wait until we know more about the game and gameplay before declaring it awesome or crap, OK?
No wonder devs/publishers can pull all sorts of ridiculous stunts and get away with it... people don't actually stop to think before they make decisions about games. I sincerely hope nobody went out and dropped pre-order money based on this trailer. Or have we forgotten all about things like A:CM already?
