@malec_1 Nobody ever replies to intelligent criticism of articles like these. Sexism is the current "cool" thing to pick on and I don't think they care that it's 99% uninformed or picking on straw-man stereotypes/arguments.
I agree that there are issues with sexism at points in games, but I don't see how it's ANY different from other forms of media.
Why does gamespot keep using lousy compressed 720p video to try to compare console graphics (which are 720p) to PC graphics (which are potentially over twice that high res at 1080p)?
These videos are so freaking pointless. They don't show anything.
@SicoWolf Agree. Gamespot often is guilty of the same tripe as IGN, but IGN on the whole is worse. You only need to see IGN's Skyward Sword, Diablo 3 and ME3 (among many other AAA games - those are just the most egregious offenders off the top of my head) reviews to begin to understand why.
But to be honest, most all of the gaming journalism industry is in bed with the publishers/developers. You have to find independent or amateur reviewers if you want honest reviews and criticism of AAA games.
@jmc88888 @surppo Meh... the 3 580s thing was to get MSAA enabled on the Samaritan demo. When they subbed in the inferior FXAA in place of MSAA, it was runnable on a single 680.
Dumb down another setting or two or sacrifice framerate a bit, and it could be done just fine on next gen consoles.
@Lothario_Hermes :( Uninformed comments like this make me sad...
If you can afford an HDTV and a console, you can afford PC gaming. Simple as that. PC gaming *can* be much more expensive than console gaming, but it doesn't have to be (unless you're one of those people who wants to play all their games at high resolution at 60fps constant with max settings).
