I would be willing to bet that at least 80% of the commenters here bitching about how graphics really aren't that important compared to other aspects of a game are the same people who drool over the graphics on articles about the UE4 tech demos.

@BrunoBRS Far Cry was amazing and the first Crysis was quite good. It's only since they've been infected with the console virus that their games started sucking donkey nuts.

@Phrosnite Because you can have a fantastic game that excels merely in graphics and story, or a fantastic game that excels merely in gameplay, etc.

Games are too complex an entity to be broken down this way. It's an overly simplistic and reductionistic way to judge a game.
