I am really starting to think that you're a 360 fanboy coming on here to try to "corner us" so to speak. you said you beat Resistance in "few hours", are you kidding me? I believe it will take you a lot more than just few hours to beat it. I remember it took me and my friend playing the split screen mode at least 15 hoursto beat and that was on easy mode,so I don't know what you're talking about when you say "few hours". If it really takes you few hours to finish a game, how many games do you want released for you every month?

do you have Rainbow six on your 360? that one is pretty good and has more maps on it than the version of the 360. Another FPS that I enjoyed myself is Call of Duty 3. Also Warhawk is coming out soon and that's a game that you would want to play on your PS3. you said you don't like sword games, so that would put you in a very limited category which is FPS only. Are you only into FPS? Do you like RPG games. God of War is one of the greatest ones out there. It's on PS2 and but will play just fine on your PS3. Oher than that, you have to wait for Haze, UT3 which are coming out in the next few months.

HDMI and DVI both send all digital signals from a source to a display. The two are compatable with each other, but when using a DVI to HDMI cable you lose the audio signal over that cable.

-HDMI sends both video and audio

-DVI sends only video

You can use any computer monitor you want as long as it SUPPORTS 480p/720p/1080i/1080p

edit: it only needs to support one of the above formats, but the more the better.

In order to get sound from the PS3 when using a HDMI-to-DVI cable you will have to use either the audio portion (red and white)of the Composite cables that came with the system or use a toslink cable on the Digital out (optical) port.

This guy said it the best. I do the same thing on the Hotel TV because I take my PS3 with me when I travel. The hotel I stay at has an HDTV but does not have an HDMI input to it rather it has a DVI input. So I purchased an HDMI to DVI cable to hook it up to the TV. The problem is that DVI accepts only video, so you need to output sound as well. You can do that via AV cables (red and while) or using an optical cable. if you do that, you need to go into your sound settings and change the setting to output the sound using whatever cable you're using. I personally use an optical cable. It's awesome for sound, but av will do just fine

these are the dumpest 10 reasons I have yet to see. PS3 rocks and you know it. You are just a fanboy. Go start your 360 and get as much time on it as possible because it WILL break some day. lol. that would be one reason why 360 sucks. thanks

nobody said it better than the one dude. Sell your 360, get a ps3 and the card. Most of the good 360 games come to the PC anyway. that way you have a powerful PC and a PS3. PS3 exclusive games will never make it to the PC. that's a fact.

ok, connect your PS3 to the monitor using the AV cables. turn on your PS3 and the monitor then see if the monitor picks up the signal. If it doesn't then you might have to play around with the setting of the Monitor a little. Now having said this, you have to be careful because I, for example, always play my PS3 using HDMI on my HDTV, but when I take it to my friend's house to hook it up on his regular TV, I need to change the setting before I go to use AV cables because it won't automatically push the signal through the AV cable unless I tell it to. the opposite isn't true though, when I bring it back from his house and connect back to my HDTV using HDMI, it automatically ask me if I want to switch to HDMI mode.

I say if you have money, go out and buy a little 20" LCD flatpanel TV just for gaming. That way you don't have to worry about it. You have changed the bulb within a year and half though? I thought these should last like 4-5 years minimum.

Listen man, you should contact the Manager of that best buy you went to and tell him what the sales man told you. This sales guy will definitely get fired. This guy must have thought he's talking about the xbox360 or something? No there are no overheating problems with the PS3. I have one, and it runs so smooth, I can barely hear it. This sales man is a definite fan boy of M$ without a doubt. Go buy it and don't worry. Go ahead and search the Internet too, you probably won't find a thing on PS3 overheating. That's just a lie.

I am guessing that for you to be able to do that, your monitor has to either accept an HDMI or Analog (red white and yellow wires) input. If your monitor doesn't have that, then there is no way to do it. hooking your PS3 to your computer isn't gonna solve the problem either.I don't think you can do it.

I thought that at launch, everyone was having trouble with them.

Maybe im mistaken, but thats what put me off to buying one last fall. But now with the price and the upcoming games i'm re-interested

You must be thinking of the 360's launch. The xbox360 had overheating issues very badly the first three months of launch. Actually the problem still presist til today with the 360's. The PS3 has never had any problems at all.
