@Thanatos2k: Do you not read the article? Apparently at least 30 other people didn't either.
They explained why ported games sometimes couldn't. If after reading you still don't understand, don't just slam what you don't understand, re-read it till you do. You clearly don't understand technology. Furthermore you don't understand marketing. I'm not even trying to defend the console. Your post gives us nothing but a whiny rant. They explain it and you come out talking like a caveman trying to understand a smartphone.
I will never buy another Pinball FX table until they figure out how to give you access to a table you've purchased across platforms. Having to pay $10 for PS4, Xbox One, Android, then PC for one table they don't even support Microsoft's play anywhere function. Great game that falls flat on greed.
@JackNief: Perhaps it is just perception. It isn't that I don't understand where you are coming from. You actually have one up on me as I never played the first title. From an outside standpoint I just see a reason they could have done it. I'm not afraid to admit where I'm wrong and this may be one, I actually enjoyed reading your last comment. I don't know the tone of the original game. May have to go find the original and give it a play-through.
@JackNief: You are probably too young to understand then. Swearing doesn't have to be present in a game at all, but perhaps the developers felt the people who played the original are older and wouldn't mind. If swearing is the reason you don't want it, then don't buy it.
@JackNief: Did you ever stop to think if they are targeting people who played the original, that they might make it for adults? 2003 was 14 years ago, pretty sure anyone who played it is an adult now. It's good base to start with. Everyone else may just pass, so these people jumping up and down about the game are all adults. Just a thought.
@str8gr8: I can't remember the last time I purchased physical media for a game on console or PC. The XBox One X should give a great experience that you'd have to pay $1k plus to achieve otherwise while people complain about the $499 price tag. My guess is when people have them, more will want them. I believe the price is just right. Physical media for movies is night and day, there is a difference. Compression isn't your friend, the loss of audio quality, and not really logical unless you have a ton of storage space.
The cost savings would really come if I didn't have a PC, Xbox One, and 2 PS4's. Buying one of these would save me a lot of money. I can't do without the PC. As stated above I'm just not going to rebuild for a feature I can pay less for elsewhere.
@str8gr8: There are roadblocks to just simply upgrading a PC. There are limitations to technology. In order to play UHD Blu-rays on your PC you are required to have a Kaby Lake CPU. If you just bought a Skylake CPU you aren't going to drop that money just for the feature. Upgrading can be a shady practice with PCs due to DRM. I'm opting to buy a Scorpio over buying a new CPU/Motherboard, saving money and still have a PC that plays well in 4k at 60fps, just for the UHD playback and the ability to take my Scorpio with me if I want to take it to a friends house or something.
