Not really a FPS but it is the in the first person viewpoint the Penumbra series of games are very creepy as you never really have a way of protecting yourself. There is a new game coming out soon aswell.

[QUOTE="zahyr"]5 months GazaAli
nah man keep the card. its not cool to buy something just to use it for 5 months. I say keep it for another 5 months then think about upgrading, unless you have a lot of money and you really couldnt care less about money, then do it.

I agree with GazaAli i did update from the GTX260 because it was starting to lag in more demanding games to the GTX470 but i had the GTX260 for over a year and a half. Unless you have the money to spare i wouldn't upgrade so soon after a new purchase.

This thread is hilarious. Lems are becoming mad :P and I haven't seen a single cow yet (minus TC?). Don't be so sensitive guys...

You guys know that TC's point was that if Fable 2 would go to the PC, the 360 version would have less impact in SW? (And IRL too, if you factor the fact that people without a 360 who now no longer need one to play it i.e. every single cow with their 3000$ super rigs that comes mandatory with their trey :P)

Anyway, I personnally find this to be rather of a surprise, since MS has been butchering their PC line up since 2007ish and shut down their most talented PC studios. It's still good news for me since I don't have a 360.

RavenLoud

The only reason the lemmings are getting mad is because the TC is one of the most antagonising and annoying posters i have ever seen on this board. The worst part about all of this is some cows coming in here and can't see the blatant fanboyism oozing from every word in every reply he has put forth in this topic.

Yes this is one less exclusive for the X360 if it turns out to be true but the game is funded by MS, published by MS and is comming out on two platforms X360/Windows that come from MS, its a loss for lemmings but a win win for MS.

Exorcism would be a start! But in all seriousness that is a strange thing to happen.

Do you have your gtx260 216 ooverclocked alot? The reason I ask was because my gtx260 216 was only able to get a 5.9.

This generation of DX11 cards are going to be outdated when DX11 is really taken advantage of. There are only a few games out there that support DX 11 features, and those that do take a big hit in the FPS department when the DX11 effects are turned on. That being said, go with the 5870. Amazing card for a great price.

CuDDKiDD
that's not always the case I know of one game aliens vs predator with dx11 features that performs better in dx11 mode then dx9. Seems it more of an issue with the way the features are implemented causing the impact on performance.

I'm not sure whatdgsagis talking about, but gta had roots in console YEARS before it went to pc. GTA is not a PC game. It is a console game ported to pc about a year after the console versions come out. I don't think red dead revolver ever came out on pc, but it was also released around the same time they first started porting their games to pc in the first place, so I'd say there's a very good chance that Read Dead Redemption is going to be ported to pc eventually. Unfortunately, if it follows the gta franchise, you won't be getting a pc version for another year.

You couldn't be anymore wrong. . . The 1st & 2nd GTA games were released first on PC. GTA was a PC franchise before the move to 3D and GTA3.

[QUOTE="Timbury"]Yeah and my card was still cheaper then the 5870 im just saying thats what i done :( no need to get snarky!hartsickdiscipl

Snarky? Lol.. I don't think I've heard that one before. All I was saying is that if he can afford to get a 5870 over a GTX 470, he should do it. Stock for stock, and OC-for-OC, the 5870 is faster. Given that it uses less power and puts out less heat, I think that gives it 3 big pros. No offense to your personal tastes, I was just stating facts to make sure that the TC stays properly informed.

Yeah sorry british wording just thought you were jumping on me there :P In my original post i did state that the GTX470 does run hotter and uses more power. He came in asking about the GTX470 thought i would give him some insight from someone who owns one.

I mean i only changed my mind at the last minute to get the GTX470 after reading a view on my particular model, I had planned on getting a 5870 beforehand. Im not trying to be fanboyish or put down the 5870 which is what i think you think im doing.

I would say atleast with the GTX470 it is over blown seems to be more the GTX480 even though i have my card clocked higher then a GTX480 temps don't seem to be an issue for me. Gets up to about 69-72c while playing MW2 for a extended session which is more then what my GTX260 was putting out, but isn't as bad as these 90c i was seeing in reviews.

Edit* On power consumption the GTX470 is a hungry card and overclocked it needs more juice but again this isn't an issue for me, may be for you?
