@Tzunoy Now there's a smart lad. I usually wait half the cycle, that's usually when the price drops, the console is at it's peak, the best games come out and you already have a modest library to start from and most problem solved.

When in the beginning of the cycle - Prices are raging, games are none to be found, whatever games that DO come out are mostly experimental and tend to fail, and the consoles are riddled with bugs from release. Best to wait for Slim versions.

When in the end of the cycle - Price is very low and library very big, but new games are fewer and the console sees less support from the company who already aims for the next gen. Most old games are not supported anymore and online features go boom.
