"We fail all the time" lol. Well you got one thing right at least, this is going to be a monumental failure. Looks fun for a bout 5 minutes but this will not hold attention for much longer than that and will get terrible reviews as a result. It's like MS are putting out graphically superior mobile games for a console market, pointless strategy that isn't paying off.
@SaintsRowLA Creep-y! I hope you don't think your vids only appeal to these serial killers Jess. Gotta love your sense of humor as a Brit! :) Although no Gamespot vids are working for me at the mo :\
To be fair guys it could be undeserving of the score seeing as it is Tom doing the review. Tom has controversial views just for the sake of having a controversial view. And he has a very specific taste and if a game doesn't suit that he reviews it from his stand point only, not thinking about how people who have a different taste to him might find it. For instance he disses the much loved combat from Batman and berates this game for being similar. The combat may be too simple for him because he is so close minded but almost every other gamer would praise Batmans combat. So it's not an ultra challenging and original indie game Tom, well it's not trying to be. Please start reviewing games as what they are and not what you wish every game was.
@danielbirchal I wish the poor saps who made the mistake of only buying an XBone would stop implying gamespot are wrongfully biased toward PS. They favor it because it's such a better console. And don't go calling me a fanboy because I can speak objectively as I own both consoles (as well as 360 and PS3). And trust me the comparison is ridiculous. The XBone is like a whole different gen between this gen and last gen, like an updated 360. PS4 feels like the only truly next gen console. So stop whining about people favoring the better console and just go out and buy one.
Wow the way MS continue to dig their own grave while thinking they're doing the opposite is quite unbelievable. "The TV features are to keep people entertained between big game launches." How is that not translatable into "Our big games are going to be few and far between"?
Just crazy, keep up the good work MS hahahahaha
And also "it won't impact on their 'gamer first approach'" What gamer first approach lol? The TV feature has been it's main feature ever since the announcement conference where it's all they talked about. And if it's now supposed to be putting gamers first where are the games. Have they even announced a single game since the ones they revealed in that very first conference like a year ago?
The perfect game for a newcomer to play is FFX. I hear the older FF games have a great following and are among the best but to play them now with no previous experience of FF might not have the same effect with them being so old. A lot of what we love about them stems from nostalgia. FFX though is one of the best FF games but on top of that it is a modern (aka 3D world) game and has just had the HD upgrade released meaning it would appeal to a modern gamer with enough graphical quality and depth to draw a new player into the FF universe. Also the combat system is nice and deep but not daunting because it slowly expands as the game progresses meaning it is easy to grasp and pick up as you go along, not to mention the fact that you have all the time in the world when battling to look around the menu's etc with the excellent turn based combat as opposed to the constantly running time based combat of FFXIII that basically ran itself without you needing to really even know what was going on and why.
