What do you think is suspicious about it?

AnnoyedDragon

What is not suspicious of a cross platform game suddenly becoming PS3 exclusive when Sony became the publisher?

Are you sure you know what the word suspicion means? Because it sounds as though your confusing it with the world obvious.

When did Sony pay for Haze to be exclusive? Also please Microsoft does that 90% of the time.

AnnoyedDragon

I never said Sony paid for Haze, but a cross platform game suddenly becoming exclusive to the hardest to develop for platform out of all of them is suspicious.

Heavy Rain makes sense. It's a movie quality title and Sony are all about blurring the lines between High Definition Movie and Gaming this gen. They see the Playstation 3 audience as one that would buy a Bluray player but who would enjoy movie quality games like Heavy Rain.

What do you think is suspicious about it? Why would Sony publish a game if they didn't like it? They obviously think it's right for the platform otherwise they wouldn't go with it.

Wasn't the game first shown on PC? I find it weird that it isn't multiplatform.

I recall Ageia making a big deal out of the demo using PhysX for the hair; they had the video in their example section, it is even on the physX list as PC.

AnnoyedDragon

If that list is accurate then I'll be buying the PC version as I did with Fahrenheit.

[QUOTE="Tony-Harrison"]Yeah the ending sucked but the gameplay was unpredidented and revolutionary for adventure games.Planeforger

Revolutionary, in the sense that they took out most of the puzzles and replaced them with dance-dance revolution?

The reincarnation of the Adventure genre is in fact the next big thing after first person shooters go the way of the Dodo and the Platform game. Quote me on that.Tony-Harrison

The adventure genre isn't exactly dead - it's recently been gaining momentum on the PC, through digital distribution. Still, it's one of my favourite genres, so I guess that I have to support this game.

It's the only genre that can mimic movie quality cinematics whilst providing intelligent gameplay.Tony-Harrison

I'd probably agree, but Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy's gameplay was severely lacking in intelligence. There were only a handful of decent puzzles, between all of the QTE's and button-mashing sequences.

The button mashing bits where silly. I'm talking about the way the puzzles worked, which where really special. You have to admit.

Also this isn't Fahrenheit. The criticisms for that game must have reached Quantic Dream. The stuff they did right was also highly praised. I wouldn't be hyping Heavy Rain where it not excellent.

Bottle Caps as currency is pretty cool. Remember it's set on the East Coast so things may be different.

So your sayign the only reason youd buy a ps3 is because of a trailer that shows a girl crying.

Yes, I totally understand where you are coming from.

:Sdiped

Played adventure games since Kings Quest and The Secret of Monkey Island. I know Quantic Dreams technique. I know what to expect from Heavy Rain.

It's like how I'm also hyping Dragon Age. RPG fans know what to expect as it's a next-gen Bioware RPG with a D&D inspired setting.

LittleBigPlanet looks kinda good kinda okay, but I'm as likely to buy a PS3 for LBP as Cows are likely to buy a Wii for Blast Works: Build Trade Destroy. Another AA quality oldschool genre game with an online trade community for customised levels.

The game that would make me want to buy a Playstation 3 is Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream. Nuff said. 8)

I clearly thought this was off topic. Mods please lock.
