Things People Do, Here on TV.com, That Bug The Hell Out of Me

I've been here for a couple of years now, and there are some things I see people doing (mainly in the forums) that just bugs the hell out of me. NOT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO IT, it just annoys me that's all.

1. When they write in huge, brightly coloured letters (even more so, when it's in capitals)

2. When they bold, or italicise something for no real reason (doesn't bother me that much when it's normal sized, but when it's HUGE...)

3. When they don't use puncuation. Here's a tip; capital at the beginning of a sentence, full stop at the end (in most circumstances).

4. When they don't use capitalisation, and write entirely in lower case.

5. When they use text spelling of any kind.

6. When they use & instead of "and" (unless it has to do with Will & Grace, or any other show like that (Hope & Faith?)). Or @ instead of "at", or randomly using numbers...

7. When they list all the shows they edit/contribute to or every show they watch in their signature. I don't care what shows you edit/contribute to/watch, I really don't. And having to scroll past it every single post is annoying as hell (which I hear is very annoying).

8. When they self censor. Crap, for instance, isn't censored by TV.com, and when people censor it, it makes it look like they're saying something a lot (when I see c***, crap isn't the first word I think of), and if you don't want to use the word crap, why don't you use another word, like "darn", or "oh, dear", or even "parp"?

9. Threads intitled "Hey, *insert user name*! I need/want something from you/PM me!" Haven't you heard of PMs (obviously, because you ask the other person to PM you)?

10. Rants complaining about what other people are doing.

The Prettiest Songs I Own...

You know how some songs you can describe as pretty? Well, these are the ones I consider pretty...

1. Creeks - The Panics

"I made my plans for the rest of my days,
I made my plans for everyday,
I made my plans for yesterday,
Thinking of you"

2. Live Without - The Panics

"I'm living here alone and this is still a crowd,
I'll never work you out,
But how can I forgive,
Now I have to live without"

3. No One's Gonna to Love You - Band of Horses

"It's looking like a limb torn off,
Or althohether just taken apart,
We are the ever living ghost of what once was"

4. Sprout and the Bean - Joanna Newsom

"The difference between,
The sprount and the bean,
Is a golden ring,
It is a twisted string"

5. Beautiful to Me - Little Birdy

"Oh, look the afternoon,
It's the only place where you and I belong,
You're mine,
Forever and a day"

6. Forever Song - Josh Pyke

"I want the song I can sing forever,
I don't care for structure,
Just to know it's mine.
I'd hate to see,
This thing we've developed,
Become your burden or my waste of time"

7. Memories and Dust

"First I was a hatchling waiting for my little bones to form,
Next I was a fledging leaping from the nest despite the fall,
Oh, they fall, how we fall,
But if I speak to you of days upon the ocean,
I can speak to you of memories and dust"

8. So Nice So Smart - Kimya Dawson

"You're so nice and you're so smart,
You're such a good friend, I have to break your heart,
I'll tell you that I love you then I'll tear your world apart,
Just pretend I didn't tear your world apart"

9. Tire Swing - Kimya Dawson

"I took the Polaroid down in my room,
I'm pretty sure you have a new girlfriend,
It's not as if I don't like you,
It just makes me sad whenever I see it"

10. Ghosts/Ghosts That Broke My Heart - Laura Marling

"Stood at the table where she sat,
And removed his hat,
In respect of her presence"

11. Recently - Polaris

"'Cause recently I kissed you,
It's like a dream come true,
And recently you're liking me,
And I'm really liking you"

12. On the Radio - Regina Spektor

"This is how it works;
You're young until you're not,
You love until you don't,
You try until you can't,
You laugh until you cry,
You cry until you laugh,
And everyone must breathe,
Until their dying breath"

13. I'll Follow the Sun - The Beatles

"But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun"

14. From My Own True Love (Lost at Sea) - The Decemberists

"Four score years,
Living down in this rain swept town,
Sea salt tears,
Swimming around as the rain comes down"

15. Gone for Good - The Shins

"I find a fatal flaw,
In the logic of love"

16. Pink Bullets - The Shins

"When our kite lines first crossed,
We tied them into knots,
And to finally fly apart,
We had to cut them off"

17. A Minor Incident - Badly Drawn Boy

"Theres nothing I could say to make you try to feel okay,
And nothing you could do to stop me feeling the way I do,
And if the chance should happen,
That I never see you again,
Just remember that I'll always love you"

18. Phantom Limb - The Shins

"To keep some hope alive,
That a girl like I could ever try,
Could ever try"

19. A Comet Appears - The Shins

"We can blow on our thumbs and posture,
But the lonely is such delicate things,
The wind from a wasp could blow them,
Into the sea,
With stones on their feet,
Lost to the light and the loving we need"

20. Monsters - Something For Kate

"I was hanging upside down from the overpass,
Waiting to discover something about the world"

(Lover, please, do not fall to your knees, it's not like I believe in ever-lasting love...)

No Longer a Super Friend

Yep, now I'm just a crap one. So, everything's back to normal.

You know what my family's watching? "Super Troupers; 30 Years of Abba". :| The saddest thing is THIS IS BEST THING on at the moment. It's 8:30 on a Saturday night, and there's nothing on. But the set-top's working again, so I can watch Abba in HIGH DEF!

Level nine! Wow. I'm on the same level as Han. And if she doesn't do anything for another year, I might even catch up to her!

"The lotto numbers are: 40 11 3 10 44 27 and, subs: 36 26"

Do you know who would be great to marry? Someone who does the voice overs for movie promos. Nothing would be boring, and he'd make me laugh. "She thought it was just washing up..."

We have chocolate shake and bake chocolate pancakes. I've put the water in, and I've shaked it, but I can't be bothered to cook it yet. It smells nice.

So... Much... Abba *head explodes*

How many of these things have I done? Millions? Zillions? I think I've probably done over a thousand when you consider every blog entry and every diary, and every journal entry I've ever done in my whole life.

What will happen to them after I die? Nothing, I guess. They'll just float around cyperspace, and out live us all!

I've finished reading the California Diaries. Better than the BSC books, I actually didn't feel like killing myself after reading most of them. And the third Sunny one is quite sad, really. But, yeah, Ducky; totally gay Never had a girlfriend (at sixteen), kissed one girl when he was in grade 3 (but he doesn't "count" that one), and Sunny kisses him in his book, but he doesn't kiss her back. He likes to shop, and sing, and doesn't play sport. His closest friends are girls. He could be Jack on Will & Grace.

Well, now I'm hungry! Off to make chocolate pancakes! (Random fact; we have star-shaped ice cubes!)

Jen

Tirednesssss *sleep*

I'm ever so tired.

I went to town/Uni with Han today. We bought tickets to the Geek Convention! Otherwise know as Avcon. Ah, geeks *hearts*

Well, this is interesting, and long. Molly (the dog) is asleep on my Homer Simpson toy I won in a Skill Tester. And I forgot to force Han to eat a mint chocolate frog! Nooooooo...

Hey! Look how this is non-blue!

Han's asleep (probably, she went TO bed). I think I want to be asleep too.

Night everyone!

Jen

"Enjoy Your Pile of Nothing!"

Eh. That was something that I randomly heard.

Tomorrow we're going to somewhere bogan-ish. Cam, Han, and I. Yay! And I get to pass the notebook on, which I haven't wrote in yet. I need glue/sticky tape. We just have hole punches. LOTS of hole punches. I like how this doesn't make any sense (not even to me). Blogging is fun!

Ad for All Saints. I watched All Saints today! At 2pm. It was a very old episode. Bron was in it. And so was Terri, and Mitch (MITCH!) and Connor... I remember watching the episode when it was actually one. The rapist story line.

I keep seeing Billie Piper! (As in on TV, and such, not ACTUALLY seeing her. I'm not that crazy yet. Even if Steve thinks I am.) She's going to be in another ABC thing. I might watch it. Or I might forgot about it.

Yay! Jen's going to buy manga tomorrow!

BabySitters Club Drinking Game!

Wow! I'm zipping through this level! I spent a year and a half on the last level, but I'm over half way through this one in less than a month!

BabySitters Club Drinking Game

Drink if:

- You skip a diary entry because you can't read their "writing"
-
You skip a bit where they're explaining background information (eg - chapter two)
-
The NC (narrating character) says "more about that later" or something similar
-
The word "pun" is used in relation to Abby
-
The NC mentions Jessi is black and then says "but it doesn't matter to me" (or if it's used as one of the "differences between Jessi and Mallory")
-
Claudia's dress sense is described as "artistic"
-
There's a description of someone's entire outfit
-
You spot a mistake
-
The NC uses a random way of introducing the other characters (like taking a photo of them as they enter the room, or saying what animal they would be)
-
The NC says they're really good at something, and then says "but I'm not conceited"
-
They give out BS sitting tips
-
They're unintentionally b itchy
- They read/watch/study something that's way too mature for them (eg - Kristy's favourite book being To Kill a Mockingbird)
- Their school work is over the top (eg - Mary Anne writing a 20 page report or the whole BSC doing work experience)
- Any of the BSC has a friend that's never mentioned again
- They're b itching about Jackie or call him "the walking disaster"/klutz
- They babysit one family a lot in one book, and then their family is never mentioned again
- They're in a situation where they should talk to an adult (but they don't)
- It's a "issue" book (eg - blindness, diabetes, natural disasters)
- They do something charitable
- They organise an activity for some kids (bonus drink if it's charity related)
-
There's a party/dance
-
There's a birthday
-
Mal is described as being "babyish"
-
Kristy calls a meeting to order
-
A real movie/TV show/musician is mentioned
-
A fake movie/TV show/musician is mentioned
- There's a softball game
- You realise how utterly ridiculous it is

That Last One Was Unreadable

Even I can't read it, and I know what I wrote! (Well, I think I do...)

I've screwed with my favourites and now I have only one icon-y thing. I guess I'm not a balanced TV watching anymore.

Well, this has been fun.

Jen
