@brgreen Being a hardcore gamer shouldn't stop you from enjoying casual games. Games like PikMin and Plants vs Zombies remain awesome.

@Philly1UPer The Wii was no place for "hardcore gamers". The controls alone didn't fit those games. There were some classic titles on the Wii, like Zelda, Mario and Donkey Kong Country Returns, but the control scheme and the system limitations made it impossible to have proper ports of games like Assassin's Creed or to have exclusives that are exciting as Gears of War and Uncharted. Now the Wii U can have such games, but in one or two years they're going to fall behind again. The next generation of consoles will finally catch up to the PC and the game developers will create games that aren't limited by the old hardware, and as soon as the first games hit, the Wii U versions will be what the xbox 360 versions of The Witcher 2/BF3/Crysis 2 are to the PC versions. Since the 7th generation, Nintendo has been releasing sub-par, outdated consoles. That's the problem.

@DantheMan9856 Not really. Everyone knows that 7 years old hardware is lacking and that they're holding the industry back.

@SythisTaru @TheOnlyConan The engine they used for the animation allowed for some great interaction with the physics of the world, but swimming, sprinting, going up and down stairs, driving, shooting while driving and how some of the animations actually chained into one another was stiff.

@TheOnlyConan It doesn't. Mods don't fix the stiff animations. Animations in this one look great, Rockstar took a giant step forward with Max Payne. Now, GTA V modded will be something. And I'm fairly certain the reason Rockstar isn't releasing the PC version along with the console versions is to optimize it for DX11. I can't wait.

@pelvist @Nightrain50 It's definitely based off of, but it's not developped on. Dishonored has a story, Assasin's Creed has a story, Dragon Age has a story. An MMO story is a vague storyline buried under "kill 10 goblins, then kill 10 angry goblins, then kill 10 red goblins, then kill the goblin boss" sidequests, rinse & repeat. There's a lore, but it's only seen through the artstyle. Just because you see monsters and characters from, say, asian mythology, doesn't mean there's an actual story behind it. The story behind an MMO is about as deep as the story behind a MOBA.

@pelvist @Nightrain50 MMOs aren't for everyone: they've brought nothing new to the table since WoW, the ones that do have at the very best interesting combat, but it does nothing to hide the utter lack of story or character depth. It's hours and hours of mindless grinding until you reach the level to do dungeons and raids, which are entertaining for a while, but once they're done it's just hours and hours of grinding in hopes of getting the phat l00t. It's like Apple products, shallow, expensive, but it has a religion-like following.

@00LiteYear Only thing I hate about it is the fact they're not making a decent Marvel game. It's gonna be an online, okay-ish game without any actual story or character depth, or awesome super hero action. It's just gonna be like a Diablo mod.

No Torchlight MMO ? Good move. Don't ruin it.

@GOGOGOGURT False. Halo has influence from most shooters before it's time. Half-Life, DOOM and the like. Doesn't mean Halo isn't original, but it has its roots and influences, like every modern games.
