GX was a great game it just had a great sense of speed as did all the F-zero games. The Wipeouts have always felt sluggish to me no sense of speed at all in them. In the end though the reality is GX didn't even sell a million copies worldwide and that is why you haven't seen anything else since.
It just seems that Nintendo doesn't like to keep a lot of IP's that are marketed towards an older crowd, obviously I am not the only one to make this case. I have no problem with Mario being an E title or Kirby or DK etc... but why everything and I'm not asking for gore and sex filled M titles either. I don't know if they're strategy is keeping up a family friendly image or they think games rated E will sell more because both kids and adults will play them or a combo of the two.
Miyamoto probably disliked GX 1 because of sales and 2 because it had a teen rating. They just won't any of their IP's mature other than Metroid. Zelda TP was rated T, opps that's pushing it, so Skyward Sword is an E game same story with Fire Emblem. I also feel Star Fox started life with a little more gritty tone than other Nintendo IP's and ever since then it has been cartoony and goofy.
