I may be progressive, but honestly I can stomach Huntsman much more than ANY other Republican candidate. Why isn't there more support for genuine people like him or even flippity-floppity Mittens? Many conservatives I see are blowing trumpets for losers like Bachmann or Perry.

Sidenote: Huntsman is cool, but I disagree with most if not all of his economic positions.

I don't know much about the area, but I think the media is just spotlightingfor the ratings bump. And to be specific, I believe I heard it was a young muslim man (21-years-old)mowed down by a suspect that the police have stated is black. The only gripe I have about the who incident so far is why the police have specifically revealed the race of the suspect and nothing else. It would have been one thing to reveal his entireidentity, but I think its weird just to revealhis raceif there were known tensions between the two groups.

I bet the movie will be out before 2012 elections.

Damn straight 8) Need to remind low-infos on who's watch this mass murderer was brought down.

You're right. He was the one to say "ok." A leader among leaders.

Hey call it what you want, but this sure ain't leadership. And my comment was something of a snark, but honestly I don't believe President Bush was really determined to find him anyway.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades. Still a loss if you don't achieve your goal. But spin however you like!

airshocker

Could Republicans get elected in Blue districts with this climate? Notinthe cards. Independants are souring on the conservative talking points.

EDIT: Also, if I "spin" so much, please point out anything in my post that isn't a fact.

What? These were overtly RED districts that Democrats just TOOK from Republicans (these same districts voted McCain in 2008). Democrats didn't loose anything they didn't already have, it was the Republicans that held a net loss. BTW Democrats have defended one seat (District 8) successfully on July 19th already. The change to date is Democrats + 2, Republicans - 2. That is a clear positive for the Democrats, even if they fell short of their 3-seat goal. Further more, if the Senate had this composition when Walker was forcing through his agenda it would have been DENIED because Republican Dale Schultz voted against the legislation!

Democrats "losing" this round of recalls is just conservative spin.

@Mafiree: This is what a posted from this thread: [QUOTE="Ultimas_Blade"]Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. Look what happened in 1937 when conservatives forced deficit reduction. The economy contracted! None of the conservative posters are even touching that.

All the economic voodoo being touted is for lack of better words bull. Cutting taxes for those who aren't hurting and don't need it, reducing the deficit at such an UNWISE MOMENT, and cutting government spending when businesses nor consumers aren't spending is utterly foolish.

Corporations are having their best year ever and profits are soaring and we aren't suppose to tax these organizations?

Mafiree

Please don't misrepresent my argument. I'm not against deficit reduction, but that isn't the problem right now as conservatives would like everyone to believe. Unemployment and Under-taxation are the real issues at hand.

I didn't misrepresent anything. You were against spending cuts. Obama's plan had spending cuts.......

I'm against doing all three of the things I named at the same time.

I think we can do better with a whole list of defense spending cuts and not to mention ridding ourselves of many useless farm subsidies. What I do not support at all right now are cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Cutting SNAP benefits right now is a dumb idea as well. Anything else is up for discussion though as far as cutting spending.

But again it isn't about cuttig spending, it's about raising revenue (which is at the historic low as a percent of GDP)by eliminating Tax Cuts for those who don't need them and closing the loopholes in the tax code.

Everyone's atfault basically. Republican's just made it oversensualized. It was coming though.

You can't run a yearly increasing deficit forever.

I'm tired ofconservatives always trying to spread the blame around when their side f***s up. The rating wouldn't have been downgraded if the Republicans took Obama's Grand Bargain. S&P was going to demote the rating anyway if at least $4 Trillion in reduction hadn't been agreed to, and the Republican's "no taxes" demands shot that plan down.

I thought you were against that yesterday? Since it would have reduced the deficit.

You assumed such. My argument yesterday/couple days ago was that we should be reducing the deficit at such an unwise time, in addition to two other stipulations AT THE SAME TIME. That was not the whole of my argument neither and I will return with a quote of what I posted in a moment.

[QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"]Congratulations Republicans in general and the Tea Party in particular. Your using the debt ceiling as a means to hold the global economy hostage for months resulted in the lowering of the U.S. credit rating. inb4ObamaIsBlamednitekids2004
