Sorry, but the PS3's version of Mass Effect 2 is better than the lowest end PC version of ME2.

Sorry...but yeah...I'm right again.

*shrug*

N30F3N1X

Why cherry pick the lowest end PC version of ME2?

Do you have *any* proof of that?

Also, how do you explain Crysis graphics, that consoles are far from even dreaming of?

Look, I've already given you 3 good games that show that the PC is the lowest common denominator.

I'm not going to go through every single game made for this gen.

I've met my burden of proof and that's that.

I'm sorry you don't like the information, but it is what it is.

The lowest end PC's that play the majority of this generations games are less powerful than consoles.

Once again....I'm right.

PC MINIMUM System Requirements
OS = Windows XP SP3 / Windows Vista SP1 / Windows 7
Processor = 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU
Memory = 1 GB RAM for Windows XP / 2 GB RAM for Windows Vista and Windows 7
Hard Drive = 15 GB
DVD ROM = 1x Speed
Sound Card = DirectX 9.0c compatible
Direct X = DirectX 9.0c August 2008 (included)
Input = Keyboard / Mouse
Video Card = 256 MB (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported Chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater; ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater. Please note that NVIDIA GeForce 7300, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, and 9300; ATI Radeon HD3200, and HD4350 are below minimum system requirements. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. Intel and S3 video cards are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2.

Heck....I'm playing the Mass effect 2 demo on my PS3 right now

You just proved that you're wrong, considering that processor is more powerful than the Cell and it's just one component out of a whole array of hardware pieces

Yes, I proved some PC's that play this generations games are indeed less powerful than my PS3.

Frankly, that's all I needed to do.

Here...have another :)

You didn't make any point.

In fact, you just debunked your own point by stating PC games are scalar, while console games are static, thus proving consoles are the ones being the lowest common denominator.

MMOs don't need hotkeys. MMOs don't need 40 spells. That's the overcomplicated game type that's become popularized by Blizzard, but it isn't necessary. They don't even need to be RPGs, they can be persistent adventure or action games in a massively multiplayer environment. I don't really even enjoy grinding. The exploration aspect is fun, though, and so is the questing aspect. But it could easily be replaced with a "mission" system and be adapted to consoles. The problem really is the closed networks more than any other thing.Brownesque

Totally agree with you....but one thing...

PS3 isn't really that closed...rather, it doesn't have to be.

Here's an existing PC and PS3 MMORPG where both platforms play together.

As a matter of fact, Consoles aren't even the "least common denominator".....PC's are.

Hakkai007

Wrong!

Even the lower end stuff today are better than consoles.

Consoles are the lowest denominator by far.

No...I'm right....PC's are the lowest.

The Sims 3:

Operating system Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or Windows 7 CPU Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent
2.0GHz (XP)
2.4GHz (Vista or 7) [If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.] Memory 1 GB (XP)
1.5GB (Vista or 7) [If built-in graphics then add 0.5 GB additional RAM] Hard drive space 6.1GB or more for extra content Graphics hardware DirectX 9.0c compatible card with 128 MB RAM (NVIDIA FX 5900/ATI 9500 or better) and support for Pixel Shader 2.0 Sound hardware 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible card

My PC (3.2 GHz), which is 6 years old at this point, is more powerful than those minimum's for THE SIMS....and guess what? My PS3 is more powerful than my PC.

My point is made.

Are you sure you have played Xbox LIVE. Its totally and completely free to play online...and $50 dollars a year for the other content and is completely worth every penny due to the online advancements it has over other consoles. Please, check yourself before you speak.ajg891

Holy Thread necromancy Batman!.

And no.

XBOX LIVE isn't free to play online outside of the first 30 days.

In several topics, I see people that mention foliage when talking about graphics kings and whatnot, and then there's often several people that laugh. Yet, when I see it I get the feeling I'm missing out on some running joke or something.

Can someone explain the punchline or what's so funny about about Foliage? What's the story?

Thanks
