First, I put this here instead of game recommendation thread because I'm not asking for what games I should play. I'm asking more about how I should search for games myself.

So basically, I'm looking for stealth games, stealth + speed games (like assassin's creed), and speed games (like spiderman).

And what I'm basically asking is: What is the best way to get all the games that fit my criteria?

I mean, looking through the all games section takes way too long right? But looking through the action/action-adventure genre gets me most of the games I'm looking for right?

However, there also seems to be other games that fit the criteria that aren't in that section. For example, dissidia, don't you think it fits my criteria for speed? And as for games like WET which is located in the "other shooter" section, shouldn't I look into that too?

Lol, I'm mostly just asking for clarification as to whether or not you think those kind of games also fit my criteria for speed.

And just to explain why I may seem to be looking for "weird" kind of games. It's because I lovved the assassin class in mmorpg's. However, I hated rpg's and mmorpg's, so I decided to find games with similar gameplay as the assassin/thief class.

Then I looked through the aspects in the wiki sites, and there were some aspects like traps, stun, assassination, speed, versatility, stealth, etc. I then first decided to find games based on seeing how many aspects each of them have. Next, I found that stupid because irrevelant games were coming into the equation.

So, I decided to look more into the assassin/thief classes in other rpg sites like oblivion, and figured that speed and stealth are the major attributes of assassin/thief class so I decided to use them as guidelines for games.

So what do you think of using speed and stealth? I mean, I don't see how the other aspects can be used as guidelines. For example, assassination always happens in stealth games.

thanks

RPG is basically a game that has a more dynamic interface than the others. Like you have more influence over your character and the you can interact with the characters in a more specific manner. More items and weapons. You can fully customize your inventory and sometimes your weapons and equipment as well personal attributes.

RPG is basically an action adventure game that gives the player more of a role in the game and often the game is full of choices that allow the players to dictate the path of the story by the choices make. The only difference between an RPG board game and video game is that you can't create your character, for obvious reasons, so you get a limited selection of features to build your character with.

thanks :D

Wait, but an rpg has like a worse combat system than action/action-adventure games right? I mean you don't see rpg's with people running on walls and jumping on buildings like infamous or just cause. And as for the stealth, what do you think of it in rpgs? Alpha protocol seemed pretty crappy, but for a person like me that's really interested in stealth, I should choose mgs or splinter cell games over rpgs eh? It seems like stealth in rpgs is just another option that's not mandatory.

And finally, the question that I've been wanting to ask for so long lol, I personally like stealth games, stealth + speed games (like assassin's creed 2, saboteur), and speed games (infamous, just cause 2, spiderman basically games where you have a lot of speed in running, climbing, and combat)

So do you think I shouldn't be looking at rpg's? It's just that rpg's like dissidia, do you think dissidia fits what I'm looking for in speed?

Sounds like you just like plain action games. What you're looking defeats the purpose of RPG.

thanks. and action-adventure games too right? I was confused, like games like dissidia, don't you think that fits my speed aspects even though it's considered an action rpg? As for alpha protocol, isn't it stealth game?

And I might as well put all the rest of my questions in one post so I don't have to pester you again :P

Are there any other fighting games similar to dissidia with 3d movement? And do you think dissidia fits what I'm looking for the speed stuff.

And finally, as for the shooters, I don't need to look at tactical shooter games right? In the "other shooter" section, games like WET seem to fit pretty damn well with what I"m looking for don't you think?

In a RPG you develop one or more characters to become stronger through them gaining experience.Treflis

you kind of do that in some action/action-adventure games too like spiderman: web of shadows, Prototype, Infamous

I mean, some of them seem so similar. Like alpha protocol actually seems similar to the espionage in splinter cell?

And I don't know why some sites like ign describe dissidia: Final fantasy as an action rpg.

But what exactly separates these two genres? And in which game is stealth better?

They're mostly generic. Look at first person shooters for example. The game could be 5% shooting and the rest puzzles or exploration but they still sum it up into a first person shooter because it'sfirst person and you can use a firearm.

MagnumPI

I'm not really asking for games. I can do that easily myself. I'm just a bit confused about the organization of game and the genres. I mean, I'm also confused because dissidia seems to fit my criteria for speed, but are there any games similar to it.

As for rpg's, I hate rpg's, but alpha protocol seems like a "splinter cell" kind of games that might also fit what I'm looking for.

So how exactly should I look for what I want?
