Seems like Elizabeth's cup size is one of the 'variables' in this universe...

"Longtime Mass Effect fan" has become something of an oxymoron.

If you're going to make games with a 'cultural point of view', don't make them with an overly simplistic and highly fictionalised interpretation of history as you did with Assassin's Creed.

The irony is that many of the 'space marine' games he belittles are more realistic than the likes of AC, in that they are projected continuations of our history, rather than retrospective overhauls of it.

500 is bad enough, but the Xbox One costs the equivalent of $660 in the UK. Completely absurd.

@AlwaysRunning Why not have both mechanics? So if you're offline and cannot validate the install via an internet connection, you can still play the game but with the disc in the tray.

@Mega_Loser @Zevvion @VV1LL14M What part of it was unrealistic? Though as Zevvion said and as I conceded, it would be difficult to implement successfully.

If we take it that all games have to be installed with an online connection (which, even under their new policy, they still do), why couldn't MS have just created a system whereby the serial number (or unique identity) of a game disc was stored on their servers at the moment of installation so that the game could then be played offline indefinitely and without the need of the disk in the drive whilst maintaining all of their original DRM ambitions (as they could identify any attempted install using the same disc).

This way they could support all of the features that they were so adamant were 'the future' without all of the messy compromises; It would allow both offline and disc-less play, and flexibility with regard to transfer of ownership of the game as the original host console, whilst connected online, could register its un-installation and allow its instant re-installation on another.

Of course there may be technical difficulties implementing this system but I wouldn't have thought it impossible.

@valknight @VV1LL14M @Nirvi_ You speak as if they are identical products in all but name. They are from it. I think having 90k gamerscore governs your opinion more than reason does.

@Nirvi_ @VV1LL14M Perhaps, but I would imagine it has more to do with the fact that it is simply 'the next Xbox', with few other considerations taken.
