What an absurd article. Essentially, you make a bold claim and then try to back it up by repeatedly stating obvious facts or highly inflexible interpretations; the entire argument is non sequitur. If the call for a different ending really is just from 'a handful of goading voices' then would it really have the prominence it clearly has? Everyone I know who has finished ME3 says the ending is utterly terrible; it's unprecedented, and Bioware/EA should pay attention (and no doubt if they do then we will have to pay something in return). A past example: the alteration/extension of the ending to Fallout 3 by way of DLC was well received after widespread discontent with the original. Does that automatically disqualify the game from being art?

You might be a self proclaimed nihilist, but that does not put you in a position of intellectual authority from which you can simply invalidate other people's humanity as 'irrational'. Your argument is polarised and woefully simplistic; it is the height of arrogance to declare morality as entirely non-existent, though I don't think anybody would deny its meaning is contentious. You are, like everybody else, essentially bound to the same condition, and a lack of compassion for other people does not automatically grant you an enlightened state of mind. Many would probably view that as a weakness of character but that is another matter altogether. If this truly is a 'dog-eat-dog world', and human society is purely a question of 'survival of the fittest', then why are you, in particular, alive? I guess it's down to your superior physical strength and intellect. If anything, I think it's pretty clear that human progress has shown that such a state of nature IS escapable. All I can think to say is that far more intelligent people than you live today that have a considerably more benevolent outlook on the world, a fact that you would probably find discomforting if only you were to accept it. Presumably they are all delusional.
