@lunacg: You are actually the first person i meet that says ark is a good game, and that it´s ok. Exactly my second point, It has taken ARK 3 or 4 years to grow as a game, but most of the mainstream crowd has move into the next cool thing which is Battle Royale games.

The gamers that still play ARK are the ones are fan and that care and enjoy the game which is a good thing. But, unfortunately you need help of the mainstream players for a game to grow, because even if these people only play the game for a few hours, they already invested money on the game which goes for the company, and helps the game to grow.

It is going to be a long row for Fallout 76 now that the mainstream crowd has move to a different niche.

@lonewolf1044: Exactly, it takes times to develop this type of games, specially if they try to build for the long run but the problem is that AAA companies wont release games on early access, even if people know that right now that game is half baked. It is going to take at least a year for the game to be on the right track, that is if Bethesda does not pull the plug before that.

Normally this type of games never do well, just look at ARK Survival, after two years in early access, reviews were very low and so far a lot of people hate that game as well, even without the Fallout stamp on it.

I think they jump the survival genre train too late, this game should have been release a couple of years back when the craze about these type of games was hot. Now is the battle royale wagon, lets see how much this one lasts.

This Fallout game was definitely made for a different crowd of people. Especially the ones that like ARK, Forest, 7 day to die kinda of thing. Fallout fans are going to feel dissapointed.

But I am dissapointed in the writer of the preview, because he is obviously biased towards survival games. The isolation is meant to make you feel powerless and knowing that the world is there to hunt you and make you feel alone. There is nothing wrong with games like that, but obviously the writer was expecting another massive RPG type of game like previous Fallout games, even when the company clarify before it was going to be different.

@theotherjeff: Yes you are right everyone wants a piece of the cake so they try to copy each other out because if they dont add this new feature that X company put in there games, they are going to miss out profit, and that is what is all about for big publishers.

I think what happen in the gaming industry is similar to what happen to the fast food chain restaurants, like McDonalds, BurgerKing, KFC, etc. At some point these restaurants had be very good because otherwise they would not have been able to grow the way they did. Just what happen with EA and Mass Effect 1 + 2, Ubisoft Assasins Creed 2, Activision with Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Once these franchises went sky high, then came the real profits. And these people like anyone else always want more profit and revenue so they have to keep growing no matter the cost. It is true for every business, they always have to keep growing, otherwise you end up like Telltale games.

However the cost of this, is a declining in quality content, they will just keep repeating the same over, and over because is the safest way to keep getting more money. Just like fast food restaurants they will add some new item to their menus, but in reality these new items or features is just a marketing trick to keep going to the same restaurant and keep buying the same stuff.

I think we are stuck in this place because the masses prefer games like this over quality content, because it is familiar and they know what to expect. Sometimes trying something new can be a little stressful and might take a while to get use to but it can be better, I think a company that prove this was CD Project Red with Witcher 3 and after their big success, instead of milking it, they went forward and even try something different like Cyberpunk 2077. This company deserves respect because is more worry about quality than quantity.

@mari3k: Well i have played both, similar idea for MMO, and I can assure you that Warframe is better by a mile in pretty much everything from graphics, content, community (one of the best ones), and developers keep bringing new content regularly.

Wow amazing, people complaining about a company giving you a game for free. I had the game already and it is not that bad, a little disjointed storywise. As a multiplayer game, to be honest it feels like just anything else that other MMOs (Warframe for example) do already, so there is nothing special there unless you are really into the lore and the aesthetics.

Now days nobody seems to talk about how MMOs and multiplayer games are getting really staled, pretty much every developer copies and pastes the same formularover and over again with only a few changes, it is really worrysome.

@Peazo: The campaign is pretty much a single player game. The multiplayer aspect comes at the end game with raids and other events you can play and they are quite hard. So you need a squad to play with at the end, that for solo players like me is very hard to find.

Warframe i think it has a better matchmaking system and the community is a lot better, so it is easier to find help with other people.

@kiggor: Warframe is actually very optimized, i think it should run fine, but it will suprise me if the NS wont stutter once you are fighting a horde of infested. Probably, wont have the nice graphics that PC and the other consoles have though.

Edit: I am hoping they will add Samus Aran as a Warframe, that would be awesome.
