@Export First of all, according to the chart Playstation 3 hasn't sold even close to 2 to 1. They're outdoing Xbox 360 by .9m in about 6 months. With that in mind, we look at the totals, because I was asking who raped Xbox 360 this GENERATION, and we can see that despite WII destroying both Xbox and Playstation in sales, Xbox is still ahead of Playstation. Either way, I'm not defending either system. I think the Playstation is a great system, as well as Xbox 360. I just get fed up with the ignorant crap I see on here sometimes and every so often feel the urge to respond.
@MaI45g9K Gamespot is biased? I guess you missed this part... " Let's kick things off by examining Microsoft, but be sure to check back in the following weeks for an assessment on Sony, Nintendo, and the next crop of mobile devices."Xbox got raped this gen? By who? After you tell me, be sure to prove it.
If this happens, I'll say bye to Xbox. First of all, it's not about graphics; it's about the future of online? What? How can you even say that and call yourself a "gamer"? I for one don't put graphics on the highest of priorities, but I sure as hell put it above online capabilities. With this new Xbox dashboard, I have to pay 9.99 a month for features I don't even care about. HBO, ESPN, Netflix, ect... I don't care about them. This is the reason why I strongly debate canceling it at times. Not to mention the only thing I do enjoy, gaming on my game console, imagine that, is corrupted by Cheaters. So now I only play with a small group of friends, and sometimes branch out into the terrible online community present on XBL. Now I have you suggesting that the next Gen Xbox needs to have more of these pointless features? Hmm, no thanks. First of all I don't want any system to "Win" the next - Gen war. I love my Xbox, but I respect Playstation, and Nintendo, for keeping competitive innovation moving forward. I love the healthy competition that exists.
Now to quote "Microsoft is too reliant on Halo for its success. With Gears of War, Forza, and a very uncertain future for Fable, Microsoft is thin on its number of first-party powerhouse franchises." Somehow you're subtly suggesting that I choose my Xbox over Playstation because of Halo? No. As good of a game as Halo is, I keep my Xbox for 1 reason; Forza. If it wasn't for Forza, I'd be playing the hell out of Killzone and Gran Turismo over on Playstation. The second thing that's wrong with this statement is, what system isn't reliant on just a few popular in-house game franchises? Mario, Zelda... Uncharted, Killzone, MSG... come on.
I could say so much more but I don't want to write a larger book than I already have. Sorry for spacing/paragraphing, I have no idea how to format that on this site.
@DITHRICH The popularity of the CoD series has just brought out a number of whiney gamers in my opinion. If you look at all very popular games, they're all criticized for continuing to do what they do. World of Warcraft is a good example. You could even say they do the same thing for sports teams. Miami Heat/Lebron James *cough*. My point is that nobody tells Halo to create a new and innovative experience because Halo fans want to play Halo. They don't want a completely new experience. So what does this say for CoD fans? Are they even fans? It's nice to have new pieces to the game added or certain areas tweaked, but if you change everything from the core out, you're no longer playing CoD.
"If a casual Call of Duty player watched a stream and saw a professional player competing, they wouldn't see much of what they are accustomed to and would have a really hard time relating to what the professional is doing. In competitive COD, we don't have any kill streaks, or much equipment to use, so the game is pretty much stripped down to the core run-and-gun experience to make the game as competitive as possible."QFT. Hear that? That's the only way the game is fair/balanced and competitive. They also don't have to deal with the Lag we experience. Especially with the Lag Comp in MW3. Not that I'm complaining, I still enjoy the game. I just don't take it as seriously as some people.
