I understand why they did it... this was the easiest solution and makes it a viable platform out of the box, but that doesn't mean it is the best solution for the weak hardware they are using.
Where is Sega today? You think their IPs wouldn't have been put to better use under Microsoft? They destroyed their image and failed to leverage their assets and this has put them behind the eight ball so to speak... they're clearly heading towards Atari's fate
@chj915 for over a decade Live has been a paid service... A DECADE... they will continue to do so because Microsoft will continue to add features onto XBL and will continue to push the service forward. I would like to see all the paid services be available to Silver members though... that's just Microsoft pushing revenue though it does work. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they made basic MP free and lock all that stuff behind the paid service.
