It's definitely worth getting a PSP for all the current RPGs. If you're gonna go with the PSP Go, just note that there are a few games that weren't released on PSN, so you'll be missing out on those. On the upside, you'll probably be able to play these on the upcoming PSP2 (I have nothing to back me up on this claim, but if Sony doesn't allow PSN games backward compatability, they're shooting themeselves in the foot). And one more thing, wait for the 27th (there's supposed to be a PSP2 related announcement then), just in case so you won't regret buying a PSP/Go.

Nier is technically a RPG, so that. Otherwise it's Valkyria Chronicles.

YES! I knew I wasn't the only one! NIER wins by a mile for me.

I thought Lunar: Silver Star Harmony was pretty good with the sprites.

[QUOTE="FlamesOfGrey"]Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner by Atlus. I believe it's the only N.A. RPG for the PSP I'm missing. It was printed in very limited copies and isn't even on PSN for some reason.rwallacefan
It's an incredible game I must say, Gamestop sells it for 7.99 but you will be very lucky to get this game it's that rare! there's an FYE around me that sells it still for 40 bucks NEW :O

There are a couple of Gamestops around me that have that game (though I think it was $24.99). I guess it really does matter on where you live.

Other than Uncharted, I can't really think of a franchise that I'd like to see on the PSP2. However, there are a lot of PS3 games that I'd like to see be playable on the PSP2, like God of War, Heavy Rain, NIER, Disgaea 3, etc, though I doubt that would happen, but here's hoping it would.

There are some games that are still being developed fro the PSP, both announced and unannounced. However, if you're not happy with the current selection of PSP games, I'd say wait for the PSP2, because there are already a lot of good PSP games out that warrants a PSP purchase, but if you don't like those, I doubt the upcoming games would change your mind.

[QUOTE="Ventara"]My favourite by far is Ys 7. Simply an amazing game that I couldn't put down. Had pretty much everything I want in an action RPG. I really want them to make an Ys 8.rubedisky
did you know that the hardcorde fans like oath in felghana more? I purchased both and they should arrive soon! :D

Maybe I'm a noob, but I enjoy easier games. I found the difficulty and the challenge in the boss fights in Ys 7 perfect to my liking. I also felt it had better music than Oath. Oath was good, but it was a little too hardcore for me. I originally started on Normal, but realized that I was just becoming more and more frustrated, so I started again on Easy (and finished it), which I enjoyed much more.

[QUOTE="Granpire"][QUOTE="Ventara"]I think you guys have your expectations set too high. There's no way they're gonna have a UMD exchange program for the PSP2, and I highly doubt they'll come out with a portable Blu-ray player. One thing that the PSP showed us was that disc-based games weren't such a good idea. Physical media like memory sticks is definitely the way to go for the PSP2. Anyways, if the it's true that Sony will announce the PSP2 on January 27th, we won't have to wait long to find out. But just saying that you guys are bound for disappointment, if that's what you're really expecting.

I think Sony could fit this mini Blu-Ray into the same form factor as the UMD, then retain compatibility with previous PSP games. If it works for Blu-Rays, why not here?

That is a possibility, but an unlikely one imo. The cost and space that the UMDs take up are too much. A physical media that is smaller and sturdier, but still have a high storage capacity would make much more sense. The money and space saved can be used to improve the PSP2 a lot more. And why do we need a portable bluray player (other than the increased size)? It is quite possible to watch blu-ray quality movies on a PSP. Anyways, if they do come out with a UMD blu-ray player for the PSP2, I just can't imagine them being able to meet all the other better (imo) expectations without it costing insanely high.
