So, I'm taking that the author isn't very familiar with PDX work in the past. Europa Universalis isn't centred around the French Revolution. That's like saying Mass Effect was centred around Shepard choosing his favourite colour. It was important to the game, but the penultimate event in the game is hardly placed at the centre.
@xDragonTeax: He didn't mean original like he pulled the idea from nothing. He meant original as in not based on another movie, or tv series or whatever. He meant original as in it wasn't trying to sell itself on its familiarity.
The last line of this article is so telling. That a game that is objectively mediocre can break sales records is a statement on the health of the industry. The success of Battlefront is in no way a symptom of the quality of the game,but rather the strength of the marketing team.

Somehow, I don't expect I will be playing much Fallout 4 for a while. It's already starting to lose its edge, as the interesting quests and content gives way to the endless and ubiquitous make-work quests. It just feels that I've nearly worked through everything of substance to do in this game.
