@grin89 Jeff Gerstmann. Use Google. You live in a world where infinite information is permantly at your command. Use it. Also, "who and which 1"? Are you trying to get featured on next week's episode? What does that even mean? Would who and the one be the same question?
But the Gamespot being funded by Microsoft theory is interesting. I was writing Outside Xbox with some questions about their creative philosophy, and all three of the on-air talent have significant ties to Microsoft in their resumes. Mike Chanell having worked for Official Xbox Magazine, Andy Farrant having worked for Inside Xbox and Jane Douglas was the Technology editor for MSN UK. Oh yeah, she also worked here for some time. I thought/think that having Gamespot being "secretly" Microsoft controlled would be/is insane, but what if it was affiliated? It's well known that Gamespot took bribes, I mean generous advertising payments, for good review scores, and prominently fired one reviewer because he gave a bad one to that gem of a game Kane and Lynch. So is it really so far fetched to think that Microsoft puts a lot of dimes into getting good review scores? That said, I think its fair to say that the Xbox360 won this generation of the console wars, like the PS2 and the PSX won the preceding two, and SNES and NES won the two preceding those.
But if Gamespot WAS on the Microsoft payroll, that would make Jane's professional progression more interesting. Why would Microsoft be keeping certain journalists on payroll, but cycling them through a series of Microsoft related jobs!?
Cam, did you think to look into the historical "Order of Assassins", formed during the Crusades, and their methods? It might be fair the judge AC3 by their methods, rather than the John Wilkes Booth's or the knights who murdered Beckett. Interesting note: some conspiracy theorists believe they are still running around today, hence the story to Assassin's Creed. They are also a playable faction in the board game Illuminati by Steve Jackson Games.
So, after a little research, I found out Jane has a new show and it's good. Gamespot has... Feedbackula? Get your head in the game or I'm jumping this sinking ship. Seriously.
I know AC III wasn't meant to be a Age of Sail simulator, but the video of naval warfare had me cringing, especially at the beginning: Do they think sailing ships sail by what force exactly? Likely Connor would have run aground that that would be the end of that rebellious fool. The combat looked arcade-y, which is to be expected, but what does the carribean have to do with the revolutionary war? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
