And if you new anything about the way compression works you would know that as a systems gets older the developers get better at it. So games have way more to them but take up less space. If you noticed there was never a 2 disc game for xbox and the graphics got pretty amazing towards the end.

Want proof that games actually being good is the last thing on this forum's collective mind? Almost no-one is talking about World in Confflict after it being rated pretty much the game of the year at this point. To state what is obvious and everyone knows but people deny to the bitter end here, no-one here gives a rat's ass about great games, just about supporting their platform in the console war. As we sit here in the wake of a really exceptional game coming out that not a soul is talking about, rather continuing the endless bickering about this format, that exclusive, the lie told by group X about game/hardware/release date Y, this forum really lives up to its name.

The fact that the highest rated game of the year doesn't get an official thread because it simply doesn't need one is the kicker.

Why would you want an official thread? I am not in the minority when I say that official threads are lame. It becomes a 50 page jumbled up mess where you can barely find your own posts. Much less someones responses to your post. Everytime a game gets going I go to a dif site to talk about the game freely.

That is certainly not true.The reason my Grandad had to fight in the war was because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Anyways after two atomic bombs we might have tipped the blamescale back to our side.

Well every game I play is fun. Why else would I play them. If you mean holding the controller on my head while me and Wario do squats. No we don't get to have that kind of "fun", but then agian I am not 6 years old.

Looks OK. How annoying is that music though. What was he watching when he picked that, obviously not the same Uncharted video I was.

Halo 3 continues to look stunning. I don't know why people complain about the graphics not looking as good as they'd hoped. In the single player co-op shots, I noticed there was a little scoreboard in the bottom right corner. I'm hoping there is an option to turn this off, because i'm of the opinion that a good co-op game of Halo shouldn't focus too much on competition between players. As the name implies, co-op should be about working together, not working against each other. Different people have different skills, and often it's that diverse range of skills which gets the team through a Legendary battle... it shouldn't be about rewarding the guy who got "the most kills", because there's often much more to it than that. Some people snipe, some people draw fire, some people throw grenades. It's a team effort.

I agree 100%. I am ultra competitive, but I save that for Multiplayer online and I save it for the enemy. In Co-op there is no need to compete with your team mates that is why is is called Co-op. However with that being said, putting that score box in the corner my proverbial Clawscome out, and I know my friends are the same way. People will be going for the best weapons, power-ups, etc. So I really hope that we can turn that off.

Nice thread except you should have just made it Mass Effect. I was so excited about Lost Oddesy after seeing the first couple videos at the Tokyo Game show in O6'. However now it seems like it has been getting downgraded since that amazing trailer.
