Gender is defined as a man or woman. That's how it is.

The same reason killing another human being is innate but murder is illegal. Because rules are the foundation of a civilized society. You must deal with it.
Funny. All my years in the military and in every unit I've been in, it's well known who the gay members are and no one really cares either way. It may be mentioned in passing but I've never even come across anyone who was ever bothered by it. It's all about knowing that Soldier will have your back when the bad times go down.
My rule iis to NEVER date someone who is willing to leave a guy for you because there will come a day that they want to leave you for someone else. Proceed with caution!
