I can't justify the cost of entry. I have a free PC from work for after-hours support. It doesn't set the world on fire, but it was free. It's got enough juice to play my favorite PC game, Civ IV. I have a hard time justifying an expenditure of $500-700 just so I can play Civ 5, which is the only PC-only game I really have much interest in playing.

That makes sense.

I really want to play Civ V too, and eventually my work-at-home PC will become outdated and be replaced by something more capable. I just have too many expensive hobbies. Golf and skiing are both pretty pricey.

I have a grand total of one EA game in my library this gen, NHL '09. I don't do shooters and I refuse to play Madden or NCAA Football for reasons of principle.

I will, however, be getting SSX.

Lets see... Nintendo has dominated the handheld market since gameboy... nup, lets disregard it and hand the crown to Apple.

Im so sick of these threads, you have added nothing more to a topic that has been so repetitively discussed. Yes, iPhone gaming is becoming increasingly popular, but this is like comparing apple and oranges.

The problem is how many adults (the vast majority of gamers) are going to buy two devices. If I have a $500 phone already with a big =screen that has games I can play on the road (some of them quite good) why should I buy a seperate device that honestly has a smaller selection at much higher software prices.

If you have a $500 phone, you're foolish with money.

Holy **** UFC is already at 141, I haven't watched UFC since UFC 2. That's back when I was a wee teenager.

It's a very different sport now. The early UFCs were little more than an advertisement for Jiu-Jitsu. The opponents were largely handpicked by the Gracie family to showcase a grappling art that was unfamiliar in North America. Notice there were no Japanese in the early UFCs? Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an offshoot of Judo and the Gracies knew that Royce wouldn't run through judokas so easily.

I think it's the best game on consoles this year, butthis hasn't been the best year if my opinion. Really, I haven't found it to be remarkably better than Oblivion. It's bigger and they've fixed some of the flaws (leveling and such), but my world hasn't exactly been rocked.

Vitamins, Ny-Quil, and plenty of sleep. Lots of sleep is really your best bet.

Edit: lots of water too.

For a NYE card, this is a pretty sh!tty card. I'm looking forward to the main and Cerrone vs. Diaz only.

Man I miss Pride...they really knew how to put on a good NYE card. UFC cards a top heavy and then utterly lacking after the top two fights. Thank god for Sopcast, because I certainly wouldn't pay to watch 90% of their cards.
