Still that game was bad back them and it will still be bad today. It created quite a fanbase around it, interestingly enough, so I guess that's the reason.
@txuzai: Around the same time as the vikings fought against Samurai. Don't call people dumb when you are trying to find historical accuracy in a game that obviously doesn't look for it.
@borlng: Problem is exactly the other way around. This is because people can't forget. Hard stuff when you cause a massacre, see your entire country reduced to dust, and when things are back on track you find out at it was all your fault in the end. And when you start to forget, somebody finds another unexploded WWII bomb somewhere (In my city they already found 3 in the last 2 years) Insane stuff that it's going to take a lot more time to leave behind. And when I have friends whose living grandparent were SS... well. You can imagine.
