Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is not in a higher place than Gears of War. It does look nice, but Gears of War looks more realistic.

No it doesn't. Where the heck have you been? Have you played both on an HDTV? And please don't compare graphics on textures alone. I have both games.

MGS4 is more impressive. Period. Play it and see for yourself. It's an amazing trechnial achievement for consoles in 2008 like gears 1 was in 2006. Lighting, animations, art direction, character models, blur, and particle/post processing effects are all better. Considering how much bigger the gameplay map/ areas are then textures are better as well.

To say Gears 1 looks more realistic is like saying an apple is a vegetable. It's just not true.

technically stunning and Visually stunning are 2 seperate things...

Also if we want to compare games just visually on all systems, then its obvious that PC games will win... Crysis is a good example of a visual level no current console can achieve... not even KZ2 or Gears2 will reach that level of visual quality... they can be better games than Crysis, but not better visually...

I agree! Well, not always. When Gears of War was emancipated, it looked better than any PC game. However, you're right, Crysis looks much better. Nevertheless, it does not necessarily mean that PC game(s) look better.

I have UT3 on PC, and I must say I'm not impressed with the graphics, I think it is the textures, but the game just doesn't seem as...well the graphics seem hollow when compared to gears.

Seriously, there are a great deal of games that have graphics of high quality and truly are beautiful on consoles, but Gears of War is the finest - that seriously is true.

am sorry but its useless to discuss with you, if you state Geow1 is the best looking game, than you obviously havent played anything else on any other system... you can keep your personal opinion, thats fine with me... reality is a different story !!

GeoW is a great looking game, but the 360 version looses to Stalker imo, PC version of GeoW might tip the balance in GeoW's favor, but not by much. I expect Clear Sky to be better looking than GeoW2 on 360.mr_mozilla
