Halo 4 does not break new ground; it removes previous features (duel wielding), it's plot is far too be vague to be compelling (it boils down to, the baddie has a superweapon, stop him! I did that in CoD enough damnit), the side story following Cortana's break down is intriguing but its one of the few genuine highlights. The gameplay is as much fun as ever, but it feels just like a reboot of Halo 1 with better graphics, which is exactly what the Anniversary edition of H:CE was.Far Cry 3 for the win.
@xiViaarksman Agree completely, it was an amazing, emotional action packed game. The ending left a bitter taste, but when you consider the sheer wait of expectations placed upon those last hours and the way so many other IPs struggle with their own endings ( both games and films, I'm looking at you Matrix trilogy) it becomes hard to judge.Besides the slew of free post release DLC really outweighs the games few short comings.
Really hoping that Crytek are putting in the same effort with gameplay as they are with graphics, otherwise this will flop horribly when it launches so closely to GTA V and Bioshock Infinite.
The MS guy has it right, people do just release the same things over and over as a safe sales bet. Thank god there's people like Hideo Kojima who know how to push the boundaries. In five years time just imagine what he'll do with the newest wave of consoles
I hate StarForce so damn much! Using a PC I brought in 2005, I was able to over 2 years buy and finish every Splinter Cell game. In early 2009 I upgraded and brought a whole new PC, but found Splinter Cell CT didnt work at all. I've had similar problems with other games too (Doom 3, Quake 4). Now I just paid full price for a brand new copy of Gears of War PC and StarForce won't let me play it for no apparent reason. Goddamn StarForce to hell!!!!
They included Snake which is friggen awesome. But why can't they throw Gordon Freeman in? C'mon now, a crowbar for his melee and the gravity gun for like, everything else.
Another month and another batch of video cards. Yawn, wake me when there's something affordable and capable of playing Crysis at Ultra High with no lag.
Farmer900, you're an un-educated stooge. You've either not played enough GTA3 or you just didn't play it when it was released. BEFORE this game came along, driving and shooting was the only thing done in games. GTA3 (and the series) changed all that.
Where the hell is Grand Theft Auto 4 (or 5 or whatever)?? Surely someone wants to play this just as much as Halo 3 or Super Mario Galaxy? When you consider the incrediable amount of new and downright awesome features that got crammed into the PS2 version of San Andreas (fighter jets, dating, charecter stats, multiplayer crane&wreaking balls etc etc), it should be safe to assume that with the hardware being offered by PS3 and X360 that something truly amazing is on it's way for October 07. Imagine GTA:SA, now add in Half Life 2's source phyics (hell expand on those this is next gen) then factor in graphics along the line's of Splinter Cell 4 at the very mimimum (it'd probably be closer to Gears of War, Rockstar have been waiting years for some GTA eye candy). Think about all this and then tell me you aren't excitied about what's gonna be on offer in the next GTA. That fact that you guys haven't mentioned it, well, that's just criminal.
