Please don't embarrass yourself any further. Virtua Fighter 5 was developed by SEGA AM-2 and published by SEGA Corporation. SEGA AM-2 is one of SEGA's largest and most established internal (that's right, INTERNAL) teams.

Please don't embarrass yourself any further with your ridiculous amount of SEGA knowledge. Thats a title to be proud of....

And you even stated earlier you had played every single one of those games and can vouch for their quality.... Do you just play SEGA games? That was quite a long list... Go out, smell the breeze, run your hand along the top of a wheat field, play on a tire swing, go to a baseball game... find a balance. Such a devoted, fervent thread topic and hubris of your rebuttals on behalf of a sub-par game company can't be healthy...

Hey I was wondering if someone could help me out with this really frustrating situation I'm dealing with right now.anyways, I have had absolutely no issues with my 360 for the better part of 2 years. Suddenly, I'm playing NBA2K8, and the game stops because "the disc is unreadable." Ok, fine, whatever. I turn off/turn back on my system and its fine for a few minutes and then happens again. Geeze! So i take the disc out. Seems perfectly fine. Go to XBoX support, heed their advice, follow the whole "take the HDD out and then try playing the game" routine. Doesn't change a thing. I go and wipe off the disc with a soft cloth, turn it back on, same issue.

So i start panicking that my inevitable day of XBOX hardware issues has finally come. I try COD 2- doesn't even start (this one was really nicked up though), so I try basically a brand new Mass Effect- works perfect. Halo 3- starts up fine. Boishock, GeoW- both work fine as well. Oblivion- doesn't even start up- MAYBE nicked up a little, bought it used, but should really start because its not that bad at all.

So, some games start up and work while other don't at all. i keep all my games in pristine shape, they come out to play and go right back in the case when I'm done.

I've basically deduced that my disc reading drive only works if the game is absolutely perfect. I am wondering if this is something i should just deal with and wait and see if it slowly deteriorates to a point where it no longer reads anything (assuming it ever will), or just send it for repair asap. Its not playing a bunch of my games, and i have a hard time coming to grips with the idea that i will just never play them anymore and reside myself to to playing the games that work. Is this a normal issue?

I guess I'm just worried that if I send it for repair the system is at a point currently where they might plug it in and find no issues at all with the system. Thus, they might decide nothing needs repair and I just sent it in for no reason. If you were in my shoes would you mail it for repair at this point, wait the however long it takes to fix, andhope in the end this erratic, inconsistent, baffling issue will be fixed? I'm almost sure at this point the issue is with the system more than the games' condition, but when the occurances are so inconsistent how can you know for sure?!?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

because I am 25, don't have nearly as much time to play games as i used to, and the 360 already has more amazing games out ALREADY that I'd love to play and would never have enough time to get to playing unless I ceased to live a functioning adult life. Not to mention i feel there are plenty more amazing games coming in the future. Many of which I will never have time to play as well. It simply singlehandely delivers more quality gaming than I could ever ask for. I don't need anything else.

You didn't read any reviews for this game at all before purchasing?Jandurin

Not really. I got that promotional package w/ zelda packed in w/ the DS. Only DS available in my entire city during the holidays, that I could find. With that said, Zelda is Zelda. The name is synonymous w/ quality. And I don't think if I did read the review the frustration of returning to that temple over and over and over would fully resonate w/ me until playing it myself.

So, I'm on my fourth trip back to The Temple of the Ocean King on Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and I'm just about ready to throw in the towel on this game. But its an interesting conondrum because I'm absolutely loving the game as a whole, I don't want it to end, and it has been a great DS experience through and through... This damn temple though....guys.... I don't know if I can bite the bullet and go through this same place again. I mean the first time was great, the second was a tad annoying but tolerable, the third time I started nervously recognizing the direction this whole game was going...but now, the fourth...? And I'm sure there will be a fifth....maybe even a sixth....its the only place where you use the hourglass for god's sake!

Does anyone else share the same sentiment? By that i mean you absoluetely loved the game, but the Ocean King Temple is singlehandedly ruining your gaming experience...? i've invested too much time to just give up, but come on! Tell me the ending of this game is worth this monotony....

I don't know how many of you guys have heard about PitchforkMedia.com, but basically Pitchfork Media gained its fame by being overly critical, smug, and elitist in regards to its musical preferences, and especially brutal w/ its music reviews. Up and coming bands are broken or made by a good review by that site because so many "music fans" blindly accept and follow their ridiculously pretentious musical opinions.

Basically, its elitism for the sake of elitism.

I definitely see a similar route being taken in regards to video games with this gamesite. Now, I own an XBOX 360, I'll let that be out in the open right now, but the recent overly critical, dare I even say in some cases, unrealistic expectation-laden review scores, in reviews that have been occurring at this site for the better part of the past year has left at least me scratching my head (regardless if scores were for PS#, 360, or whatever....). Whether it be Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Mass Effect, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda:Twilight Princess, etc.

Now, I know, there have also been some real head-scratchers that go the other way too, such as Assasins Creed, Conan, Eternal Sonata, Perfect Dark:Zero, etc. However, so many of these games that continually flop here at Gamestop are games that are highly-anticipated, flagship titles that people have been waiting for from the moment they first saw clips of the game, and often when they do come out, in the vast majority of cases they have scored VASTLY better from other HIGHLY credible gaming sources while Gamespot flops them. Why? I have a theory, but maybe its just me. My perspective may be jaded, but gamespot seems to be taking this pretentious viewpoint, trying to make some high-horse statement as if to say by flopping these games,"Yeah, we did that, we went there..." Being an elitist for the sake of being an elitist. Deliberately going against the herd, not with any definable or useful purpose, but going against the herd just for the sake of it.

So, think what you will, but I'm not blindly accepting any smug elitist review this site puts out from here on out, unless it has a legitamite and consistent manner in which to criticize these games. I've never seen so many ridiculous flip-flop statements and contradictions that actually is an asset to one game and a detriment to another from one "credible" source in my life. And for god sake, it was amusing while its lasted, but can we please be real and all just admit that the PS3 does have AAA games, and this site is just too smug with their head in the clouds to realize it.

Oh great, we have philosophers on system wars now? Funny thing is that I have a B.A. in philosophy. No jobs at all so am double majoring in biology now. Personally I think everyone is a philosopher...how good you are depands on your logic and reasoning. Logic seems to be the fanboy's worst enemy.whocares9

Sadly, that seems to be the case w/ philosophy students as a whole. Its really interesting and all, but real-wrold applications are pretty sparse. Unless you get higher education and become a professor your options are limited. Biology is pretty mediocre too though, man....unless you're trying to be a doctor or medical profession....good luck...
