I trolled because i said true fact that BF1 is 720p on Xbone? Good.

Somehow I'm suspecting that subjects like framerate and resolution are the last things y'all are gonna want to be talking about when Scorpio comes out. Oh, and it will play UHD blu rays, will support external hard drives, etc. Sony did better with their gpu in PS4. Yay for them. But they've been screwing up ever since.

@lolzman: Streaming UHD is lower quality and if you have a 4K TV you can already stream UHD content. Nothing special about it. Missing a UHD player is a joke to for a so called 4K machine.

Exactly, what 4k TV doesn't already have the streaming apps? Only new media feature PS4 Pro or Slim could have brought was UHD blu ray and Sony just said meh, screw it.

@Wickerman777: I'm sure they did it to keep things at $399. From what I hear the BOM on 4K Bluray players is about $30. They would have had to increase the price to $450 and that would have been poorly received as well and would mean they would pass the magical $399 sweet spot.

Well, whatever. Xbox is gonna have it in 2 different models and it appears Playstation ain't gonna have it at all until PS5. Seems like a bizarre decision to me.

Considering that even Xbox One S has it I was surprised to find out PS4 Pro doesn't have a 4k blu ray player.

4K Tvs will upscale a 1080p source.

According to this guy his model does not and if his does not I would assume the same of others, maybe some just stretch the image and pixel fill? He makes note and highlights the fact that the input signal is 2160p, and by doing so it would imply that when the PlayStation 4 is hooked up solely that the input is 1920x1080.

On top of this the Xbox One S conversion might actually be better than what TV's can provide, it's the same logic of 1080p Blu-Ray players with DVD upconversion, the methods used by the device are much better than what the TV does itself and greatly improves the image quality.

If the guy's tv is 4k then he's wrong about that. It might say that the signal is 1080p but his tv is still upscaling the image to 4k. It has to cuz that's how many pixels it has.

Well, why not? The media rewards it by droning on endlessly about how it's whitie's fault every time a black person shoots a black person. So hey, make as much noise as ya can.

The size of game downloads and the patches for them is ... although not in a good way. Skyrim was only what, like 4 gigs? But on these new consoles so many games have enormous file sizes that don't seem like they should. Downloaded a free wrestling game for X1 the other day and even it was nearly 50 gigs.

I don't know, depends on what you prefer. But I will say that I find PS4's inability to support an external hdd to be hugely annoying.

Honestly, it should be something that a single person could code in for functionality in a single day.

It's probably some DRM concern they have and not that they can't do it. But if MS can find a way they should be able to find a way.

Yep, America for sale to the highest bidder. Not that it wasn't already that way but under Clinton cronyism/pay to play will be put on steroids. Gonna be great!
