For the thousandth time it's not a simple matter of GDDR3 vs GDDR5. Y'all need to stop forgetting about the custom hardware in the next Xbox that increases the bandwidth of the GDDR3. It takes it up to about 170 GB/s. That's slower but pretty darned close to GDDR5's 176 GB/s. PS4 has an advantage there but you guys are grossly exaggerating it.

I would absolutely love to see MS announce the 720/infinity had 8GB unified DDR5 RAM, just to see the reaction around here :lol:

Sure, I guess that would be cool. But if I could pick just one thing to improve it would be the GPU. Yeah, GDDR5 RAM is better but I don't think it's going to be a huge deal. The differences in GPUs, as they stand right now, will be.

I think the GDDR5 has been exaggerated as well. It is an advantage but not to the extent that some are claiming. It's not as simple as GDDR5 vs GDDR3 because MS is putting custon hardware in the next Xbox that will increase its bandwidth. It won't be as fast as GDDR5 but it should be close enough. Imo MS's approach makes more sense economically. The RAM isn't much of a concern to me with the next Xbox. If they improve the GPU to something more like what's going to be in PS4 I'll be satisfied with it.

I think y'all tend to exaggerate the ads. I'm not looking at the dashboard right now but off the top of my head all I can remember is one little ad-window in the bottom-right of the screen.

That's not to say I don't have issues with some things MS does. I think it's silly to have pay for XBL Gold to use Netflix, for instance. And I've always found it to be utterly ridiculous that they charge actual money for those silly little thumbnail-like gamerpics or whatever they're called. I can't imagine someone actually paying for that crap but apparently someone must be or they wouldn't still be doing it.

But anyway, as far as the central question goes: Competition is a good thing. The PS4 specs y'all just got wouldn't have been as good as they were if the threat of what MS will do hadn't been looming in the air.

Maybe I didn't word that in the best way. I am agreeing with you that PC gamers can indeed play in 4K. Whether doing so is practical at all is another matter. But there definitely are PC GPUs out there that can do it.

And that reminds me, I get a kick out of these PC guys that play games on ultra settings. Unless you're playing on a freakin' drive-in screen what's the point in setting the resolution that high? I don't believe for a minute that they can actually see the difference.

No big deal. The 11 people that own 4K TVs might be upset but oh well.

This seems like a strange comparison to me. Crysis 3 is done already and Killzone is still in development. So you're comparing Crysis at its best to an embryonic stage of Killzone. That it's even being discussed right now is a heck of an achievement for Killzone and PS4.
