How could it help X1 more than PC when X1 development already allows closer to the metal coding? I don't doubt that it'll improve X1 ... but more so than PC? Doesn't make sense.

I don't know the details of the Kojima firing. Did he 100% complete the game and then get fired or did he mostly make it and then someone else take over to finish it?

Yes, this gen sucks. But I think pretty much everyone knows that already. It's probably the weakest batch of consoles vs the time they released ever. Both Sony and MS seemed to have been influenced by Nintendo's approach when making these machines. They didn't go as far as Nintendo does with that mindset, but were influenced by it nonetheless.

Okay...what's going on? Nvidia haven't optimize their latest card with Directx 12 yet or...?

I think it's probably more a case that DX12 makes software optimization from the hardware manufacturer less relevant. Nvidia has been totally spanking AMD because their drivers are better, because they work with game developers more closely, etc. DX12 makes it more about the physical product and Nvidia has never had the same kind of edge over AMD in that department as they've had with the code that runs it.

Why are AMD cards seeing a larger increase?

It's not just a larger increase ... it's an incredibly huge increase for AMD and pretty much no increase at all for Nvidia ... at least in this test. Op didn't post the heavy scenes and 99th percentile graphs, those results are even more impressive for AMD. A lot of people have been predicting for a while that AMD would benefit mightily from DX12 and whoa, that appears to be coming true big-time.

I'm not trying to put on a tin foil hat and be a conspiracy theorist, but I wonder if AMD got the jump on DX12 due to working closely with MS with the XB1 and such?

Here's another article comparing this game running on Nvidia and AMD cards. Again the benchmarks have Nvidia killing in the DX11 comparisons but AMD pulling even in the DX12 comparisons. And the author offers some opinions as to why this might be the case.

Also the massive improvements in DX12 is a good think for AMD, because will make gpu's like the 390 to equal the 980Ti instead of the 970.

May I ask where did you read this?

He said run much cooler, 6C difference is not much cooler it is almost the same.

Your R9 390 with 10% (1100MHz) o/c runs at 66-70C under gaming.

My GTX 970 with 20% (1405MHz) o/c runs at 56-60C under gaming.

Define what "much cooler" means to you...

He was talking about the 390 but in that article I just linked to a 290X was equaling the 980Ti when they were running DX12. :)

I read an article that says an early DX12 test has proven very favorable to AMD and not so much for Nvidia. Nvidia was unquestionably the DX11 champ but maybe AMD is gonna wear the DX12 belt.

Sega Genesis is still my favorite console of all time. Yeah, Super Nintendo was more powerful but it launched 2 years after Genesis. Of course it was going to be technically better. Genesis held up to it amazingly well considering that. As far as what's most efficient ... hell, I don't know.

X1 is even worst off since PS4 is 50% more powerful as the world's most powerful video game console in the history of video games.

It just happens to be current gen 8 console leader and current NPD winner 2 months straight, covering E3 and after.

That's an exaggeration. Its GPU is around 40% more powerful but it's a little behind X1 when it comes to the CPU despite them being physically the same thing. That's because X1's CPU is clocked 10% faster and is using an extra core for games. The latter is because MS is simply better at coding than Sony is, able to do more with less because of it. That's why they're able to do bc via emulation and Sony can't and also the same reason X360 used less memory for its OS than PS3 did last gen. All together PS4 is probably 25%-30% more powerful than X1, certainly not 50%.
