So they put out a new version of it and there's still no HDMI 2.0? Wtf.

Saw an article or blog or whatever from a guy that says he won't buy it new to protest Konami and a bunch of the commenters agreed with him. That doesn't make sense to me. From what I've heard Konami execs were pissed at Kojima running up big budgets for his games and it seems to me that if MGS5 doesn't sell well they'll just take that as proof that their opinions/decision were correct.
I've been a Xbox gamer since the first Xbox but MS's hardware design pissed me off this time and I was dead-set on choosing PS4. However, although the hardware still blows (PS4 also sucks, but X1 is worse) changes that Phil Spencer has made has softened my dislike of X1 and I've now decided to get both of them. I've been putting it off though cuz I'm waiting for HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 versions of the consoles to come out. When I do get em though I'm not sure which version of Witcher 3 I wanna go with. PS4 version runs at a higher resolution but the X1 version runs at a more stable framerate.
Accepting 60fps as the norm, there are sporadic, one-off dips on both platforms. Here we see PS4 slipping a frame as we draw close to a target location. The cause isn't entirely clear, as the renderer provably handles more intensive scenes at a perfect 60fps - though PS4 and Xbox One are equally prone to this light hiccupping.

Is there ever a 60 fps or even a 30 fps game that never, ever drops a frame? I can't recall seeing a digital foundry article EVER where they've said there wasn't a single instance of a lost frame in a game. Dropping just a frame or two is going to be totally imperceptible to somebody. It's drops of multiple frames all at once that are noticeable. From what I've read MGS5 is pretty much as smooth as you're ever gonna see on either console.
It isn't just Gamespot. I've noticed at Metacritic that a lot of games have the preponderance of their reviews for a given platform and then ya get just a smattering of them for other platforms.
X360 was pretty quick with updates and such, PS3 still takes forever. I wonder why Xbone is so slow? The first thing I noticed when I booted up the PS4 was how smoothly everything operated.
For one thing there's goofy kids all over the world relentlessly attacking these services with DDOS attacks.
I was surprised when I read in a review that the campaign is only 30 fps. I just expected it would be 60 fps, especially considering it's a remaster of a 9 year old game.
Yeah, the current crop of consoles were outdated before they were released.
Yeah, it's a shame. It's common to start looking forward to more powerful consoles a few years into a console generation but this generation is the first one where I've been totally disappointed by the tech of ALL the consoles from day one.
Damn... PS4 versions of Witcher 3 patch 1.8 still falling down to 20FPS. That's unplayable.
It's probably the CPU bottlenecking the GPU. The GPU in PS4 should be good enough to do better than that. I've heard Witcher 3 on X1 runs around 5 fps better than the PS4 version in lots of parts. But you're sacrificing resolution with that version, of course.
Was going to say same thing. Well said indeed.
BULLSHIT.
My comments was for "Are they computating destruction physics or dumping their documents on them"?
Both cloud ray-tracing and cloud destruction physics requires extensive math compute resources you fool.
Like tormented, it's clear you don't understand the underlying principles for computer science. Its funny since you keep supporting shit without actually understanding the why and how.
Nope. You need to be more technical Ron instead of relying on your allegiance. PS4 is the world's most powerful video game console. That wont change this gen. Maybe next.
Wrong. There's no need to be more technical i.e. your problem. The facts are both ray-tracing and physics workloads requires extensive math compute resources and it has nothing to do with allegiance. If you remove your limited XBox vs PlayStation scope, the facts remains the same. Ray-tracing has existed before 1st Playstation and 1 st Xbox. You are showing your allegiance to PS4.
Can't be wornf when using facts like me. Sorry, not sure why you are clinging to Xbones lack of power when compared to the PS4.
PS4 is pretty damned weak too. The PS4 version of Witcher 3 runs around 5 fps slower than the X1 version in lots of parts cuz the crappy CPU is bottlenecking the GPU.
