I will be better for Nintendo to be third party for the PS3.Nintendo make a few good games but no good consoles.AtariKidX
And then the whole industry will go bankrupt since 3rd parties have been saying they can't compete with Nintendo games.

I'm getting really tired seeing that word.... It's not "creativity that had Nintendo succeed, it's smart business decision and good marketing strategies that helped them stride. They need to CRAFT the right games for the right audience, because software matters and they're making the Wii U powerful enough to please third parties to help the Wii U to keep afloat since third parties on the Wii is underwhelming.

What Microsoft failed is their Online, and that's something Nintendo needs to tackle on. Making the system more online friendly will definitely be a huge win for Nintendo. They should make a facebook like interface combine with a Steam service.

But Nintendo does have alot of creativity. That's how they have franchises that last so long. They keep adding new things to them while keeping the same core mechanics. Like SMGs for example, some really creative level designs but still Mario platforming. Also, Wii Fit, Wii sports, etc. And I bet thy will find creative games like Wii-fit and Wii-Sports to show the strengths of the new controller just like they did with Wii. Some of the tech demos from E3 2011 for example. It's not just smart business decisions and good marketing strategies.

Their franchises last longer because they made Mario, Zelda, and Metroid BRAND NAMES! You honestly believe that creativity is what drives sales of their great software? No, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 (though brilliant games) didn't outsell New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The Wii games aren't even creative, they're more well made to fit the general audience. But now Nintendo is starting to forget on what made the Wii popular in the first place.

So Nintendo franchises last so long because they're brand names? If Nintendo didn't find creative new ideas to add to the games while keeping the core mechanics, people would have gotten tired of them long ago just like they've gotten tired of so many other games. People buy them because they now it'll be more of the same with alot more new added to enhance the experience. Not sure what SMG 1 and 2 not outselling NSMBii have to do with how creative they are. There were many fitness and sports games made before the Wii-series that didn't even sell half of what they did. None were as creatively made to suit the hardware and to appeal to the market like them. How has Nintendo 'forgotten' what made Wii successful? How could they forget? Because they are putting out a DA controller with a screen? Last time I checked that controller can be used to make games more complex and it can make games simpler. And the console can do local multi-player even better than Wii can. In fact, Nintendo has said it's an extension of the Wii, it does everything Wii can and more. They've forgotten nothing.

IR aiming is superior to mouse for aiming and more immersive too boot. How does that make you feel? Oh and the Wii-U controller is going to rock for RTS games. As good as mouse and keyboard if not better. We'll have to see, eh? How does THAT make you feel? I love playing with mouse and keyboard (Mount and Blade Warband FTW!) but it isn't the perfect set-up for gaming and neither is DA. We have a long way to go. Good thing the companies are advancing controllers every few gen, especially Nintendo.

It's true. There's an official FB page and some people say they have been able to per-order it at Game-Stop.

Nintendo's 2 problems are relying on established franchises and their inability to cater to third-parties. There is only so long they're going to retain the revenue stream they need to wage war with MS in the console world with Mario games (all variants, including Kart and Super Smash), Metroid, and Zelda. It's all a question of whether consumers will keep buying Nintendo platforms for those games or if they'll wind up content with alternate mobile and home gaming platforms. I just dunno if Nintendo will be able to stay relevant in a world where MS, Google, and Apple all wind up duking it out for control of your living room.

Their franchises are fine. That would only be a problem if they ran out of creativity. We don't even know whether they tried making more IP's. I think they would be very good at establishing a new IP if it is necessary. The third parties are unimportant unless they want to have a shot at being a platform for gamers who can afford only one platform. Then all they need to do is make their platform the new standard in terms of power. Not significantly over or underpowered. And a good online.

I stick to my opinion that 3rd party is impossible to rely on. They hate nintendo with a passion.3rd party are hookers who give premium service to who pays them most. Which is M$'s territory. They can't ever compete with that. I think nintendo should forget third party. They have the platforms people buy for the nintendo games.
They would do better to get indi support for their platform and focus on first party.

So in short I would say this is their Tri-force:
powerful/expensive
good, complete online
total indi devotion (work with Steam!!!)

It would be a winner!
If only they had some strong support for Wii the upcoming years, a high pricepoint wouldn't have been such an issue.

Ah...yes. The hardcore. 2 out of 3 of the game company caters to them but that's not enough. The other one must try to become a clone of the others to fulfill their desires for more mature games. I wonder when they will realize they are the minority in gaming and that gaming isn't some exclusive club for them that needs to cater to their wants and needs and no one else. Screw Nintendo and their 'kiddy' high quality games that appeal to all ages. They need more blood, boobs and cursing. Long live the hardcore.

If I was in that train, I would have been laughing in her face. I don't know why, but that amused me more than it angered me.
