Took me about 5 minutes to make of the top of my head. Is it any good?

You would think IGN could do better.
by Willy105 on Comments
I have been using IGN for some time, and I have become fully aware of how truly awfull the IGN boards are.
They are SUPER slow, so slow that you can barely navigate the boards, let alone posts.
Compared to sites like Gamespot, or even smaller sites like Planet Virtual Boy or 64DD.net, IGN's boards are pretty much broken.
It would be very great if somehow IGN can update their servers to make their boards (and the blogs) much faster.
Another thing is the fact that users that are not Insider are treated like dirt. We can't do barely anything! But that doesn't matter so much when you can't do anything even if you are an Insider with these slow boards.
I will take my business to Gamespot, thank you.
IGN is all about content, Gamespot is about community.
With a little improvements, IGN could become all about content AND community!
Maybe I shouldn't be saying this on Gamespot, but oh well.

Willy105's complete guide to upcoming press conferences! (Nintendo)
by Willy105 on Comments
The next day after Microsoft's conference, Nintendo get's their publicity stunts in. What can we expect from Nintendo this year?
[spoiler]
Since last E3, Reggie has gone from being the Darth Vader of Nintendo, to the Emperor of Nintendo (President).
Due to Nintendo's massive success in such a short amount of time, they have taken a LOT of names, unfortunetaly most of them being from Sony's side.
Now that their console has launched, it's now or never when they are going to get the point home (and the Wii's with them).
First off: the Wii itself.
Developers have been flocking to the Wii with hundreds of brand new games, but not many of them are actually trying to make their games any good.
Nintendo has been trying to incite developers to make quality games by providing examples for them on how to make good Wii games.
Games like EA's Madden have proved that you can make multiplatform games on WiiBETTER than the other HD versions.
So this E3 is where Nintendo HAS to show their games, or lose them forever.
First off: Wii
Super Mario Galaxy leads the way as the flagship title for Wii.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl leads the way for multiplayer (and hopefully online, but still TBA).
Third party games like Final Fantasy lead the way for third party development.
Next off: the DS
Being the best thing since sliced bread in Japan and everywhere else, the DS has a lot to prove this E3.
First party games such as DS Air and Zelda PH bring more qreat Nintendo titles to the system.
Third party games like Dragon Quest 9 and others continue the DS game library.
So, does Nintendo have anything to fix? Yes.
They need more online games.
More hardcore games like Metroid Prime 3.
And make the Wii in more colors!
All the limitations of the Wii Channel must be fixed.
That is what Nintendo needs this E3.

They proved Playing = Believing, now they need to believe it in enough to keep on playing!
The press conference starts Wednesday morning!

Day 3: Development has ended terminally.
by Willy105 on Comments
This is why developers have to practice many times before making a full fledged games.
Apparently, my code was not structured properly, and the game has become completely useless.
How do I properly explain this.
Ummm.....
The game will not continue any more.
It crashes.
It is cancelled.
It is halted forever.
I know some of you were looking fordward to the game and I'm sorry for not living up a finished game.
Oh well.
So much for that.
Well, I'll make it up to you guys.
I will get as much information about the game as I can to you guys, either by Gamespot Images or User Videos.
Day 3: Some info on development
by Willy105 on Comments
Well, it's day three, and I'm happy to report that nothing has gone horribly wrong yet. There has been some problems, like me forgetting to put a 'biggining' to the game and such, but work has been going relatively smoothly. There still is not title, there still isn't even a working menu system, but it's currently actually a little bit playable.
As you can see the enviroments are taking shape. It might actually take a little bit UNDER 30 days to develop the RPG actually! Well, that is just hopefull thinking. It could take a year to make this. But I got 28 days and I am going to use them.
I tried uploading imags on Gamespot Images, but apparently they did not upload. So i'm going to upload them on Imageshack. When Gamespot Images starts working again, I will post a lot of images so you can see what the game is.
Apparentaly you people want to play my game. That's nice. But I don't know what I am going to do AFTER I finish the game (if I even get finished in the time limit. As you see, if the 30 days go by, so does the game), I'll make sure to have ONE of you play the game.
I will update regulary, so keep on watching.
Day 2: First details and screens!
by Willy105 on Comments
Well, I got lucky. Now instead of writing a whole game by myself, I got a neat program to help me make the RPG! It's a lot easier than I expected. Looks like the 30 days won't be as hard as I thought. Anyway, the RPG will be in 2D, and will be designed similiarly to SNES RPG's like Final Fanstay or Dragon Warrior.
The RPG will be a linear RPG, mostly because I have so little time to develop it. I have already finished the first few levels of it, which is what I am showing in these screens, but they are still glitchy, so they are still a work in progress.
The sprites were drawn by somebody else. Because it would take MORE than 30 days to draw all those sprites. So all of the drawings and sprites you see are not mine. But what they do, where they are, and the enviroment they are in are completely mine.
The game shouldn't be that long, maybe a couple hours long, but there is a lot of work to be done. Judging by the screens, the game looks simple, right? That's because currenty, it is. I will add some effects and more detail to the enviroments later.
Stay tuned for more info!
I got 30 days to develop an RPG.
by Willy105 on Comments
Oh, the tragedy.
I got only 30 days to develop a fully playing and working RPG for PC. And it's day 2.
I got a lot of work to do.
I will try to balace my time making that game and being in here to run my union, and do all the other stuff I do everyday outside of this computer.
I still haven't decided on a name for this game, but the game is coming along great!
I will give screenshots later and later I will explain why I only got 30 days to make an RPG,
If you want to see my RPG, stay tuned. Hopefully it will be good!
Sonic the Hedgehog meets John Williams
by Willy105 on Comments
One of the most critically lambasted parts of Sonic and the Secret Rings is it's music. Featuring lame japanese rock music with lame american lyrics that made no sense at all, it was clearly one of the worst music ever featured in a videogame. But anyone that has played Sonic and the Secret Rings will know that is a very action fast paced game, and music like that sticks out like a sore thumb. There has to be better music than that could go with the game, right?
Here is the original Sonic and the Secret Rings:
[video=JnI1w2f-5bkPuz_a]
Of course! An orchestral score will do millions to Sonic's experience. And what better conductor than John Williams himself? John Williams is the musical prodigy that created the music for Superman, Jurrasic Park, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and many more. Which John Williams score will fit perfectly with Sonic and the Secret Rings? It turns out that Sherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra, a score from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, fits the bill almost perfectly! Once the score is applied to Sonic and the Secret Rings, the difference in excitement is leaps and bounds higher than the original!
Here is the one with the orchestral music:

Amazing!
