@JEF8484: It still depends on the framerate he is looking for. We don't know for sure that with this GPU at 1080p medium there are no drops below 30 fps. So he might have to drop a bunch of things to low to have no drops below 30 fps.

Let's wait until the benchmarks arrive before jumping to conclusions.

@sellingthings: Yeah indeed, it is not going to perform the same in games. In games, the 1080 Ti will VASTLY OUTPERFORM these new cards from AMD.

If you compare FLOP figures like that, you're just being a dumb*ss.

In AMD's own benchmarking (it is always favorable to benchmark yourself instead of an independent third-party) these new cards can only compete in gaming performance with the GTX 1080. They are WAY WAY SLOWER than the 1080 Ti.

@sellingthings: Those measures are in no way AT ALL good indicators of gaming performance. An AMD GPU which performs the same in gaming as an Nvidia GPU always has a far higher FLOP count.

An RX 580 has 6.175 TFLOPS and a GTX 1070 has 6.46 TFLOPS. Those numbers are quite close, but in actual gaming the GTX 1070 is WAY WAY FASTER.

@eggmcmuff: Believe me, these cards with super-high typical board power ratings, will not be popular for mining. They are far to power-hungry to be suitable for that.

The minimum requirements are very modest for a triple A title with good graphics. The recommended specs aren't that high either.

I think I'm quite a bit above even the recommended specs:

Windows 10 x64
MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Gaming X
Intel Core i5-4590
16 GB RAM
3TB HDD + 512 GB SSD

Hoping to run the game flawlessly at 1080p High/Ultra, which shouldn't be a problem given I'm quite a bit above the recommended specs.

Ok, so I can pay now, top dollar, to get a game which is gonna be released next year FOR FREE, and get a highly buggy POS in return. While I got like 30 titles in my backlog. No thanks!!

@chubby170: It is very obvious now that you are just trolling!!! So goodbye!!!

For the rest of the people who play racing games, but don't enjoy trolling in the comment section, it doesn't really matter at all for their sense of progression whether the later career content is locked or not. If they have the time to do all or a majority of the events, they can simply choose to do them in the most natural order, and enjoy a great sense of progress. And the people who don't have the time to do all the events, can be very picky and only do those events they enjoy. And then there's the people that do want to do all the events, but in an order they pick. Sounds weird to me, but they too will like the game.

See how easy life is when you are not an internet troll?

@chubby170: OMG!!!! You are such a hard-headed lying figure....

Where did I state that things beyond the current point were hard-locked?!? That's an outdated, very old-fashioned way of building a game. Most people want all content available from the start.

If you are really such a little small child, that you need this explained as well... Well, here I go. Even though the career mode allows you to skip content, YOU DON'T HAVE TO. So, you can just do everything in the correct order, and normally progress through the career mode as you would do in those very old-fashioned games where the later content was locked. And then you have your sense of progression.

Now regarding my experiences with the career of the first game. I did all events in the most natural order possible (starting with the karts and then building up to the bigger cars) and skipped very little. I thought it was an awesome career and felt a great sense of progression throughout the career.

@chubby170: BS. Did you even play the career mode? I felt a great sense of progress in the career mode. For one, you constantly got to see new events and new tracks while playing. And the cars changed too. At the start of the career I was driving in tiny karts. A while later it changed to an awesome full-size race car. The career mode was really well-done. So stop spreading these lies.

I do wish the interface had been much more accessible. For example, for me it wasn't clearly marked which tyres were good for heavy rain or thunderstorm weather. Is it so hard for the developers to spend a couple more hours on the interface to explain those things to people who aren't racing experts??? Here's hoping they improved those aspects of the game for the sequel.
