@Berserk8989: It's in the description of SOME youtube videos, which are not from official accounts (so not from the publisher/developer/game/nvidia etc). And the original source is a tweet: https://twitter.com/Nibellion/status/899596240899510272?s=09
But my BS alarm goes off, since the headphones are listed twice. The entry 5.1 or 7.1 surround headphones is listed twice in the specs. Therefore, the specs are likely to be made up and be complete nonsense.
"Although the announcement of a PC version originated from an Nvidia presentation, publisher Square Enix has since confirmed to GameSpot that the port is real."
Oh wow, what a surprise. I guess the alternative was that Nvidia made that 4K trailer showing off the PC version entirely themselves, and that it was a big joke. A big joke presented at a huge show at Gamescom. Doesn't seem a likely option though.
@RicanV: Well, once again, I can't speak for the reviewer. But on my PC, with a GTX 1070, on 1080p High settings the game runs at far above 100 fps. But since I have a 60 Hz monitor I've capped it to 75 fps using the in-game option for that. The game is really smooth and stutter-free.
On PS4, at launch day, everyone had terrible stutters. Horrible stutters which really impacted gameplay. Luckily, this was solved very quickly by the developers. This issue was patched a couple days before GameSpot published their PS4 review. But the patched game on PS4 still has a quite variable framerate. You can check out Digital Foundry's analysis of this on YouTube (the video is called [4K] Lawbreakers PS4/Pro vs PC Graphics Comparison + Frame-Rate Test). Basically, when there's not much going on in screen you get 60 fps. But in busy and big fights the framerate can drop to even below 30 fps. And in slightly less big fights you will get 40-50 fps on PS4. Digital Foundry also noted visible and annoying stutters/hitching from time to time when the framerate dropped. Also, the PS4 doesn't output the game at a native 1080p, it's only 900p. Therefore things look a bit soft.
If you get a better experience on the PC of course depends on your hardware. If you have an old PC or weak hardware I would go for the PS4 version. But if you have recent hardware which is suitable for gaming you're probably much better of on PC. A build around an affordable i5-processor and a GTX 1060 runs the game far superior than a PS4. Digital Foundry reports for a GTX 1060 that the game runs at 80-100 fps on 1080p Ultra settings (without hitches or stuttering).
@Rojaazu: Hell no. Not everyone wants all games to have a kindergarten-style art-style. Some people also enjoy games with a realistic and mature art-style. No reason at all to make this game fully kindergarten-friendly.
@RicanV: Well, I can't speak for the reviewer of course. But, I tried the game on PC with both a keyboard and mouse and a gamepad. And I strongly prefer keyboard and mouse. It just feels so much better and my aim is better and quicker.
I should note that on PS4 most other people will be playing with a controller. Which helps, since the others aim slower. Even though some people on PS4 play with keyboard and mouse through a (rather affordable) converter, those people tend to make the most kills. Also, on PS4 there's aim assist. If you play with a controller on PC there's no aim assist.
But still, even taking all that into account, the game just plays soooo much better with a decent keyboard and a decent mouse on a nice mouse pad.
Nexon really has to watch every single penny I guess. GameSpot had to purchase two copies of the game itself. xD
First time I see that written beneath a review on GameSpot. Al the other times I looked GameSpot had received "complimentary copies".
Anyways, played both betas myself. And so far enjoying the final release as well. Don't agree with the first negative, I really really like the art direction of this game. And there are a ton of cosmetics in the game which look really cool.
Also, the positive "Diverse characters are equally useful and valued in every map and mode" is a little bit of a daring positive. In my experience, not every character is equally useful in every mode. For example, the Titan character was a little bit hard to use in certain modes because of it's very limited movement speed. You would often arrive too late to do something useful. But in other modes, where the movement speed posed less of a hindrance, the Titan was extremely useful because of it's very powerful main weapon.
So even though I agree with the rating (8), I don't fully agree with the content of the review.
You can, however, use OBS and XSplit if you're willing to play in windowed mode, as those apps' screen and window capture functionality isn't restricted.
What about Windowed Borderless? That's kinda like running in fullscreen with Vsync on. Can you use OBS etc then to capture the game?
You also won't be able to track performance statistics, as the game will block framerate overlays from programs like Fraps.
I'm pretty sure that if you can capture the game with Shadowplay, you can use also simply use Shadowplay's FPS counter.
@paulsgranny: It is a stupid question since two people can sit on two separate chairs, and both can still be pretty close to the screen. And there are alot of pretty big pc monitors. You can even connect a TV.
