@kyelo: I think the general public mainly games on PC and mobile phones. Not on consoles. All of the available data and reports support that line of thinking. E.g.: http://www.gamesetwatch.com/nvidiagraph1.jpg
That picture should be a wake-up call to you and the others who still think console gaming has a big market share. PC game sales are actually higher than ALL CONSOLE GAME SALES FROM ALL CONSOLES COMBINED. That picture is from a report from DFC Intelligence which costs a few thousand dollars to fully view.
@Myron117: These days you have to look at the minimum specs mainly. Which usually are for playing at 1080, 30 fps on medium settings. Which you can do with an R7 260X or a GTX 760. That doesn't seem outrageous at all. This means an R9 290X or a GTX 970 can probably do 1080p, 60 fps on high settings.
The 980ti is really only for those that want everything on ultra and still get a solid 60fps. These days, ultra can be very heavy to run, much heavier than high settings.
And btw, Crysis from 2007 had very nice character models. But we live in 2016 now, and they look severely outdated. You really think THIS hasn't been beated yet? You are clearly trolling. I have over a dozen games installed right now that all have better character models. An example. Look at all the details you can see on Geralt's armor. Compare that to the super-blurry clothing from Crysis.
Wait, you are saying a minimum spec PC can only run a game at 800x600 low settings? GTFO!!!!! Actually, for most recent releases, a minimum spec PC is able to deliver console settings 1080p 30 fps.
Long live the PC where you can freely choose between servers running 30 Hz, 60 Hz and 120 Hz tickrates. Plenty of options available for each tickrate. So everyone can get the ideal experience.
The increases to object fade distances are certainly welcome. Cause at release, the game didn't look particularly next-gen due to these very low draw distances. Now the game on consoles looks a bit closer to the PC game, which is a good thing.
Can't you kinda do this with.. you know.. every game?? Just make screenshots, and then do with the screenshots whatever you want. You can print them out for example. Or you can upload them to the site of a store and let the pictures develop. There are shops which have websites where you can upload any .jpg and have it developed into a real photo.
So, this really seems like a very redundant feature.
