@jski: No, it does NOT contradict Pete Hines' earlier statement, that it would be the biggest and longest presentation they've ever done.
Let's look at the question, and the answer:
Q: "Pete how long is the bethesda conference? Cause in my region it starts 6am, and in 9am I have semester exam and I really want to see the show"
A: "I’m not going to give out a time. I assure you it won’t be three hours long"
So, really, all he is saying is that it won't be three hours long. But Bethesda's 2017 show was about 39 minutes long. Their 2018 show could be double the length of that, or more than double, and it would still be far shorter than 3 hours. If the presentation lasts for 90 minutes f.e., that's still only half of 3 hours.
I would suggest to take a look at Frostpunk. It's a city-builder / survival crossover game. Or, better worded: a society survival game. It releases in 12 hours on Steam, and has gotten stellar reviews so far. A metascore of 87 at the moment. I obviously haven't played the game myself, since it's not out yet. So, really, I've got no idea if it's fun. I can tell you (from screenshots) that is has awesome graphics, and a really detailed artstyle. No light artstyle, a demanding and impressive artstyle. The reviews suggest it has challenging and well-designed gameplay.
I would like the article better if there was an actual video included in the article. THERE IS NO VIDEO!! At least not at the time of this writing (19:30 UTC). And I tried four different browsers.
I had already watched the video showing the first 11 minutes. And before watching this video, I already knew with almost certainty what the hidden ending was going to be. It's so extremely logical that you can just wait and not press the button. I think everyone can find this hidden ending on their own the first time they play the game, it's really not hidden very well.
