"Well, digital is great isn't it I mean ISN'T it?"

While I was in the Marine Corps I never got a chance to play a game overseas until the VERY last day of my 1st combat deployment when we were pre-staging to leave country. Man... it was awesome. :) I missed playing games and even though it was a game I didn't care about and it was offline it was a reminder that there is more to life than just war and hate.... It helped bring me back to a better reality, and gave me hope it wasn't all for nothing.
At first (even though I will not get an X1) I didn't think it was all that bad that soldiers couldn't play it online.... then I got to thinking that if you aren't in one of those 21 countries... you can't even play offline because of the 24 hour online required check ins!
Like I said playing a game for me while in Iraq was not an option, and it is nice to hear that things have progressed the way they have. It is things like this that can help the soldiers over seas remember a piece of home.
I will be donating a PS4 to the soldiers overseas at some point :) I remember the care packages the two times we received them and even though it was just tea mix, shaving gear, and peanut butter crackers, etc.. it was like Christmas for us. I would like to see their reactions when they get that PS4.
