Dang.... if this is actually legit then I have to have it... sounds like a beast and I wanted what will basically be a Steam box anyways. This thing is gunna hurt the wallet though, I already know.
@just1mohr: Sunset riders is an awesome game.. one of my favorites as a matter of fact, but I'm guessing you're talking about Sunset Overdrive unless you know about a sequel I'm unaware of.
@johnny0779: SONY has already expressed their concern of how they want to reach a large new audience in record time. No better way to do that than to offer compelling games you can only get on the new console.
There is always more than one way to look at things. MS might look to be more developer friendly at this point in time, but SONY getting a jump start on a new install base is in my opinion the better route. MS will have to stop catering to the lowest common denominator at some point in time.
That said, I wish both of them the best of luck, and I actually love they are going different routes. It's a win/win scenario for those of us who don't choose sides and will support more than just one console.
@louixiii: Go ahead and spill the beans if you know so much man. I'd like to see how much you get right. It has been entertaining in the time coming to this point seeing all things that were either proven right or wrong.
Even if you're right it's not like you have any gameplay to show anyways, so bring it.
@WitIsWisdom: It depends. The true purpose for Game Pass users is that we get a chance to rent a game, and try it properly. I bought RE1 remake from Game Pass during a Halloween 2018 sale, and never regretted it. Still ended up saving on the purchase, from a practical standpoint. I considered buying Shadow of the Tomb Raider multiple times for my Xbox One X with its DLC -- especially during the myriad seasonal sales -- after playing it from February 2019 to September 2019 or so (and it is only leaving GP now, in a few days, after 12 months or more).
It gets us into another opportunity to ask the question: "Do I want to buy this game (and keep playing it forever)?" It keeps us in the store, longer. (Retail background, here, lol).
Sure man, that's the point, but it doesn't sound like too many people are using it for that.
To be 100% fair I wouldn't have bought the game if it wasn't for game pass.
That is the reason I have Game Pass as well.. to play the games I DON'T plan on buying. It's a cheap way to play games you wouldn't otherwise purchase. I would imagine many others feel the same. I guess making a couple or few bucks off someone is better than not making anything at all, but how many people WOULD have bought the game for full retail value and got to play it for cheap? It just seems like the offset isn't worth it.
The real threat for Take Two is people who play games on subscription aren't going to be buying a lot of microtransactions since they don't have full investment in the ownership of the game.
And microtransactions is ALL Take Two cares about.
I agree with this. I am the type of person who doesn't mind having a large gaming budget, but I haven't bought any add ons or DLC from Game Pass. I can see where you are coming from, and I had never really thought about that before. I guess people could always just buy the game after it leaves Game Pass, but I would imagine that defeats the purpose for the vast majority of the people that are subscribed...
