You will need approximately 2 pairs of Underwear come December 4th,Killzone 2 SP Campaign will finally be revealed and you will indeed witness the power of the Playstation 3 on December 4th. I can not speak on what you're going to see but I'd like to make an official statement; Killzone 2 looks better than Crysis.Dualshockin
Interesting to see I'm not the only one who thinks so. I think IGN actually said it was the best looking FPS to date, which is indirectly saying it looks better than Crysis. This isn't a new reaction for a PS3 game, since MGS4 was also compared to Crysis graphically. I think KZ2 is going beyond MGS4's graphics though... amazing.
It's too late for the game not to be hyped, since gaming publications have been doing it too. Not all hyped games are bound to suffer, MGS4 being a prime example. I'd liken Killzone 2 to the movie Batman Begins. Sure, there were a bunch of Batman movies released previously, but the new Batman made the entire experience fresh and more exciting than ever before. Of course, you could have argued from the trailers that Batman Begins would have just been a prettier Batman movie.
If R2 received a 9.0, is it any question what KZ2 will get? Did R2 reinvent anything? I don't think new shooters have to pull off some kind of insane stunt to be worth playing, although KZ2 is an unprecedented gaming experience in itself, which is probably why so many people are raving about it. If I'm floored just by watching minutes and minutes of Youtube footage, then playing can only be better. I'm going to say the game should receive at least a 9.5, not that it will, but it might.
This is my first beta by invite as well, which is even more exciting because I'm totally digging Home. I mean, I really like Home--I'm not burrowing my way towards my house, just to be clear. Home is the greatest online socializing experience I have ever seen. If I wanted to hang out with my fellow PS3 gamers, watch a movie or perhaps some episodes of Ren and Stimpy while kicking back in the gorgeous, high definition atmosphere of my virtual apartment, Home would be the place to do it. I personally think it's exciting to have proximity-based voice chat and be able to run around through various groups of people listening to what's being said. Imagine the possibilities... I wonder if you could have four players in Home sing a Boyz II Men song together, acapella, via bluetooth headsets and if everyone nearby would hear the resulting four part harmony. That would be amazing. Or, imagine if they implemented Karaoke into Home. Actually, if you had your own karaoke cds, you could play them in your apartment and, voila! Instant online Karaoke. I wonder if there would be a delay in the voice chat that would make that impossible. Hmm!
Other possibilities in Home could be theatrical performances done within Home. Or you could have a comedy night if they made a stage available as a purchase--that could be pretty sweet. Or you could just do your comedy routine in public and see how many people laugh. Ha! I want to see virtual stand up comedians and actors!
But anyway, as far as Home's basic functionalities, if Sony wants to let me use my PS3 as the best virtual socialization/media sharing tool available, and for free, then more power to Sony.
The Beta is awesome. I'm convinced that Home is going to be a big selling point for the PS3. It's by far the coolest way to interact with fellow PS3 gamers... graphics look fantastic and the fact you can walk around talking to anyone using your bluetooth headset--all while being proximity based--is like nothing I've experienced before. If you have surround sound it's a treat to walk through a crowded area and hear various conversations fading in and out. The sound quality of the voice chat is top notch too. Not to mention there were a ton of really cool, easy going people there. I heard a newcomer mention that he'd just arrived, and another player said, "Hey, let's go bowl." I heard another person giving someone directions... it was like watching a new world unfold.
I went into a movie theatre where an HD video about SOCOM was playing in 3D (the whole world is 3D so the screen is too, of course, but I just thought it was awesome to see HD in 3D), and you could sit in the theatre with a crowd of other people all talking to each other. You could hear a guy talking about how he didn't like SOCOM and preferred MGO. Basically, if you like socializing and/or virtual reality, Home is going to be the ultimate on any platform. It makes me wonder if the other console has something similar in mind because Home is brilliant and it's going to be hard to compete with, especially being a free service.

He basically said that GT gives 360 games higher review scores because of the controller, which doesn't infuriate me in the least. I think it's hilarious that anyone in his position would publish such a statement. If it were April, I'd say this was an April Fool's joke without a doubt, but since it's not, I just shrug and add it to the pile of ridiculous things I've heard this year. But it is a joke, right? Because the mention of a "story-driven exclusive franchise" can only be referring to MGS4. It must be, because you couldn't call Gears of War an epic saga. My final verdict on the article is that it's a load of sarcasm. None of you should take it seriously.
By the way, just got into the Home beta and it's incredible.
Has anyone else noticed that the PS3 game ratings compare to the 360 game ratings for the same game are always lower? Y is this? I think its BS. What in the heck is going on? I would say, but I dont want my account to be deleted... yung_slym
I think some PS3 owners blow things out of proportion sometimes, including myself. We saw a few slightly poorer ratings like with Fallout 3, and now we think we've got it bad. Don't forget that PS3's GTA4 also received a ten like the 360's, and to date, the PS3 has the only exclusive that was rated a 10. Do you realize that not even Crysis received a 10? We also tend to brush off the Square-Enix exclusives on the 360, like Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey, which didn't receive very exceptional ratings (6.5 and 7.5). Last Remnant is also not looking so hot in the ratings. Even L4D has an 8.5, which is good, right? But Gamespot gave R2 and LBP 9.0's. So things are actually pretty good for the PS3. You just have to keep these things in perspective.
