Yakira Blog

If you want to Save Your Favorite Show you should click here.

And then click here. Thanks for all the support as of late. Looks like I don't need to call the front page on exclamation points. What was up with the page on Monday? It didn't update or anything. All the Previous/Last Night stuff was from Sunday. I also heard the site was supposed to update tommorow. What happened to that?

I'm very angry at my boyfriend...

Very very angry. And I'm in pain. We're having trouble. And I think it may be over. And I can't afford that right now because I've got too much else going wrong. And because of those other things I don't have anyone to talk to. I'm gonna take a little vacation. I won't be here on Friday and early Saturday. Level 26 (47%)

My New Column

I'm gonna have a new column in my blog called the exclamation report. Everytime I see something on the "front page" of TV.com that I think shouldn't have an exclamation point, ususally on the basis of consideration, tone, or political correctness, I will list it the. Tell me what you think of my choices and if I missed an major ones. The Exclamation Report Someone was stabbed with a knife! She secretly gets laser surgery which leaves her temporarily blind! I'm bored. So bored. So pathetically bored. Level 26 (23%) I think they made the level advancing easier. Correct me if I'm wrong

Ok, so the TV.com staff just earned some points with me...

I went to my queue and found a submission. I click the Mod button. And up came a submission with wonderous things. Links to the show, episode, and user. Now while I wouldn't label this a sitewide priority It's still greatly (GREATLY) appreciated. I'm always trying to find my way to a seperate page from whence the submission came so that I can make sure the quote/note/allusion isn't already there and to use the summary as a refresher to make sure that they are submitting to the right place. TV.com just saved me a lot of time in moderating submissions. Now while TV.com has done something VERY GOOD and USEFUL in my book they are doing something that's grating on my nerves. The overuse of exclamation points on the front page. Every headline they flash by in that big window is followed by and exclamation point. Now while they may hope to get users pumped up about the show's airing tonight not everything is exiciting. "Meredith and George are having tension at work and at home" should not be followed by an exclamation point. "Josh may lose his job tonight" should not be followed by an exclamation point. Some things do warrant exclamtion point but NOT EVERY storyline. I'm just worried that in a few weeks I'm going to see this: "Leo dies tonight!" Exclamations points scream that you're excited. Leo's death is not something to be happy about. Must they always use exclamtion points? I think they are way to free with them. It's almost disrespectful to many of the storylines they choose to highlight. In other news I've hit Level 26! New level! Bow Flex Level 26 (4%)

How Can Cheeseburger be a Pie?

Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie (comes from a Betty Crocker cookbook) Prep: 5 min Cook: 10 min Bake: 25 min 6 servings 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz) 1/2 cup milk 2 large eggs 1. Heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray. 2. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in salt. 3. Spread beef mixture in pie plate. Sprinkle with cheese. 4. In small bowl, stir remaining ingredients with fork or wire whisk until blended. Pour into pie plate. 5. Bake about 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Directions have been modified and nutritional facts have not been included here. I recommend you eat your cheeseburger pie with a fork. You should grease the pie plate for easy removal but it's not necessary. Tastes good with or without onions. I usually put a thin layer of ketchup on top. Dentists are evil. Level 25 (88%)

Heroes is fixed thanks to waltmor and Talvix...

The title had an extra word and these two helped me to fix that. Don't have much to say right now. Seems no one likes you when you decide to moderate the forums. See ya around. As per usual I have homework due Monday. Level 25 (81%)

Okay so for starters I was talking about missribs...

in my last blog title. I don't know exactly what the prognosis is but the user who usually submits 100 times a week hasn't been heard from since I posted the thread. I don't know how much missribs had to do with it but whatever happened I'm grateful that it seems to have ended. Also... I received editorship of a new show! It's called Heroes and it looks quite promising. Now I just have to work on a contribution guide for it. I contacted danmod and it looks like after he comes back from vacation he's gonna help me send The West Wing out in style by getting the Special episodes to show up in the "Other" category. We'll see how it goes, but I'm not worried because I have faith in him. Nice to see Grey's Anatomy back up in the Top Ten Most Popular and to see The West Wing up at 20. I'm gonna miss TWW... :( Any news on Weeds? Things I have yet to update on: voting debate how well I did guessing who would win oscars a review of the last TWW episode Longest Pending Submission awards Must go do homework now before I have to go to class. Wow I got a boost from those points I submitted yesterday. Level 25 (73%) 1:22PM EST
