Even if you go by the bare minimum of speed Nintendo Gamecube run a 485 Megahertz and Xbox ran a 733 megahehertz. Plus the Xbox had a 8GB HDD which ended up being quite revolutionary for videogame consoles at the time this was new. Today Xbox One and PS4 will come with 500GB HDD's back way back in 2001. It was a brand new idea of a HDD coming with your videogame console out of the box.
Xbox was basically a Pentium 3 computer. While Gamecube used the processor of a 1997 Power PC 1 computer. Which began Nintendo's tradition of PowerPC tech for their game consoles as seen in Wii and Wii U.

The gamecubes powerpc cpu was clocked lower than the p3 but it was still more powerful Which doesn't matter at all. Overall, the Gamecube was weaker in every area with some games being very hard to even get running on the Gamecube. A stronger CPU means nothing if people have issues running gimped PC games on your console.

The graphics and animation really do make Dragon Quest VIII stand out perfect for being a JRPG. It was also the first Dragon Quest game we got in the UK back in 2006 and loved it ever since

You guys got Dragon Quest Monsters before Dragon Quest 8. Love DQ Monsters, I think with a few tweaks, it could have been a big a franchise as Pokemon, They dropped it because Digimon was more popular in japan and growing at the time and they assumed that it applied Woeldwide as well. there was an interview about that mistake, and how the merge had project on hold many times,

You are the only other person to say this. but I agree. Greyseal also mentioned grinding. And it's quite a common complaint with the game :P Yo, look I said the only other person, which mean two. But yes, i agree, I ain't still yer life savings why ya jumping on me? :lol: But it's still a good game to the end though, i eventually learned to tolerate grinding outside of the pre-early rpgs.
