COD4 is the most amazing FPS I have seen, ever. My jaw dropped when I played the demo. Its been a loooooong time since an FPS has impressed me. I am an original DOOM fan (that dates me), and ever since its been a "me too" thing with FPS. The multiplayer aspect of Tribes, and carried over into BF2 was amazing. It will be interesting to see how COD4 fares there. But graphicswise, I ran everything at high at 2560x1600, and I just could not believe I was playing a game...

Honestly, I was not impressed at all. To be fair, I am not a fan of the bunny jumping FPS games where you run around like a chicken with your head cut off. I prefer more "tactical" shooters, like Rainbox 6 and GRAW. But I thought UT4 was a lot better than ETQW, and COD4 better than all of them put together....

I loved Gears on the XBox, but I am not sure if I would spendf $50 to play it again on the PC. UT4 and COD4 look like better choices.

I played through Gears on the Xbox again last week. That game is AWESOME.

Mine was set on all high, and I have XP. It must read your PC config and make the choice for you.

If you've got a 360 or PS3, get the console version. As far as the demo goes, it's a poor excuse for a PC shooter.kodex1717

Funny you should say that. I thought the COD4 demo was the most impressive PC shooter I have EVER since on the PC, period. The UT4 demo was awesome, the Crysis demo was ehh, but my jaw DROPPED playing COD4.

Different strokes for different folks I guess...

Maybe not directly in gaming, but 4GB of system RAM will still make your system perform faster/smoother than with 2GB only. With the prices of RAM (particularly DDR2) falling as they are, it's stupid not to go ahead and buy 4GB if you can afford it.codezer0

Not unless you are using a 64bit OS, since 32bit OSes cant see all 4GB of RAM. No, it will not perform faster/smoother unless you have an application SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to take advantage of the extra memory...
