Long story short, yes, it is just as lame as the newer episodes. If you are the type of person who thinks the newer episodes are funny, then chances are you will like the movie, but if you have been watching the show for a long time like me and remember the older episodes (which were soooo much better), then you will probably be disappointed.
I dunno, I remember and still love the earlier episodes butI thought the movie was hysterical. I went in not expecting much, either because the new episodes do kind of suck.
I think you guys are on the same page. Both says that the newer episodes and the movie sucks.Matt Groening is a shameless and greddy bastard that ruined the Simpsons' legacy. In year 2000 people were calling for the euthinization of the show to keep a perfect record. Matt did not have half the brain for that.
I'm not too sure if it's Matt Groening's fault, the reason the show sucks nowadays is more likely due to the writers or Fox. And if it still makes money, then it would make sense to keep the barely alive corpse on life support right?
Then it just shows that Matt doesn't have any talent, he exploited his writers but he gains the fame.
And no, it is better to leave a legacy than making crappy shows to make money. Do you have no moral expectations for the producers?
